I promote amazon products. I know what to use as a call to action if I sell product on my own sites, but what would be the best way to word it for such an affiliate offer?

Which would be the best from the list. Also feel free to recommend other calls to action. :
    "Go To Store"
    "Buy This At Amazon.com"
"Become Another Proud Owner of "product name""

That is a nice idea definitely worth a try. and the best word acc to me would be "Become Another Proud Owner of "product name""

More importantly you need to focus on why they would buy. Not usually do you buy something because you're proud to, right? You usually buy it because it solves a problem for you. Put 2 & 2 together.

Iphones, Ipads, Ipods, Beats and other things are usually a "proud to own" thing rather than solves a problem :|

"Buy my products or i will come to your house, gut you like a fish, shove your intestines in a sack then bury that sack under 6 feet pile of dirt"

I get around a 75% conversion rate with this call to action text.

"It is Christmas. Desperate, I sit alone at my empty home, where there isn't even a Christmas tree, as I couldn't afford one. Please, make sure i don't have to experience this again and use my affiliate links to buy stuff from amazon";-)

I have never used a call to action for affiliate products. I just drop product name links on relevant articles. People who are curious about the product, click and check out.

No need to complicate things. Just say "Buy Now".

    1) It tells them WHAT to do (Buy)

    2) And tells them WHEN to do it (Now)

Being simple and direct is the key to an effective call-to-action.

    Cheers! - "Wiz"

Of course, you want the person to buy the product, so just do as suggested and say 'buy now'.

If you'd prefer not to use the word buy in your presentation, you could say, 'pick this up at Amazon' (anchor text). That's another way to let them know where to go (as in your call to action).

Just like Wizgizmo said, you need to tell people what you want them to do. People like to be held by the hand for some reason, so tell them to "buy now" or something along those lines.

You should also rotate text. Try a phrase for a week, then another and another. See which one draws the most clicks/sales. www[dot]crazyegg[dot]com is a good click tracker if you're looking for one.

You should also try moving your links around on your page. Sometimes a link near the beginning of your page will work best. Sometimes a link at the end works best. You just need to test and adjust things to find the best combination of positioning and phrasing.

To update after research i have found that call to action such as "See More" performs at least 50-100% better than call to action "buy now" or something like that. (40% vs 20%).

That is because if you say "buy now" then they think when they click on the button they will be taken to "make order" page. This invokes a considerable amount of friction.

Links that are above the fold or within eye patch work the best. So ,for example , links next to images work good.

But your click to sales ratio will be lowered, so I'd rather go with buy now. Also don't do "links next to images." People will look at the image and forget the link (well most times anyways)

Just stick with a big red buy now button, above the fold to the right of the page. It works.

I'm starting off with a "find out more about productnamehere(hyperlink to amazon)" for now
When traffic is stable I'll start split-testing with stuff like buy now etc.

Stick to "Buy Now." Millions of dollars have been spent testing CTA and Buy Now always wins. No need to split test for an affiliate site. Look at amazon, and copy exactly what they do (Shop Now/Add to Cart).

I thought it would be this way. But I tested the sales ration as well and it was the same. Affiliate is like email marketing, and I am sure you are receiving loads mails, and in no mail it says "buy now", but rather "learn more", " see more details" etc. Buy now is for eCommerce sites only.

However, instead of talking it is better to test. I will test on more visitors and will post here, and you do the same.

Also sometimes a smaller "See more" button is better than a very large button.

Best thing to do is scan the sales material for whatever you're promoting and find the bullet points and call to actions they are using. Use the same c2a and then say "beacause best bullet point or benefit statement"

I've had my biggest successes using this structure on youtube video reviews
