Call Extension in Adword Title for Mobile Devices

So, i'm pretty blue in the face when it comes to PPC - I have an offline SEO (organic client) who wants me to help him with his PPC campaign. If you guys could help, it would be greatly appriciated!

His ad currently has a call extension at the bottom after the description. He was wondering if I can put the clickable number in the title as a lot of his competitors are doing it this way. For example:

(phone icon) 666-666-6666 | New York Dentist

and have the number in front clickable on mobile devices, instead at the bottom in the smaller text.


He also said he once seen someone have 2 call extensions (one in title and one at the bottom of the ad) - Is this even possible or is he full of crap?

He's full of crap.You create an ad with an ad extension for click to call only for mobile devices.I don't think you can put the number on the title,since the character limit is verry small.

Are you sure he wasn't viewing it with a skype click to call browser extension?

Devices such as the iPhone automatically detect and make phone numbers within text 'click-able'. If you want to test it, simply open this very thread on an iPhone, and you'll see that the 666-666-6666 phone number that you put in your OP has become clickable.

Thanks all for the quick replies. Here is an example of what I took on my iphone so you guys can get a better picture of what I am talking about, look carefully at the 1800 dentist ad.

I have looked all over the internet and wasn't able to find any information. So if any PPC experts could chime in, I will love you for life
