Cali Didn't Pass Prop 19!!!!

Since when were everybody such pussies? I mean come on, people are scared of legalizing marijuana?? It has virtually no side effects and is more healthy than alcohol or even cigarettes. I was reading over the news earlier today and I saw a headline about banning violence in video games, that is another example of americans being pussies. I'm not a pothead and I don't really even like video games, but this is just stupid.

Since when were americans such wimps? Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me?

yeah i didnt really care about prop 19 because 1) who the fuck wants our dirty government to control what we smoke? they're already killing people with cigarettes, who knows what they'll put in marijuana

2) if i want weed its easier to hit my dealer up and pay for it without paying any taxes or showing the ID

i suspect the govs has something to do with prop 19 not passing lol

Prop 19 was VERY poorly written, that is why it didn't pass.

Simply put, the Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Initiative does not reflect most people's ideas of what legalization would be. The media often incorrectly reports that this initiative calls for "full legalization" of marijuana. It does not. In fact, it reverses many of the freedoms marijuana consumers currently enjoy, pushes growers out of the commercial market, paves the way for the corporatization of cannabis, and creates new prohibitions where there are none now. Apparently, to be pro-legalization and pro-initiative are two different things entirely.

Americans have always been pussies, this is nothing new. You're absolutely correct that alcohol and cigarettes are worse for you than marijuana is, but yet these same people that are anti-marijuana probably still drink liquor and smoke cigarettes. Their whole mindset is probably "z0mg it's illegal...that stuff is so bad for you" without knowing the facts.

Banning violence in video games would just be stupid. That's why all video games have a rating system just like movies do. If you don't want your kid to play a violent game, pay more attention to what the hell they are doing, don't try to ruin it for everyone else. On top of that, stores won't even sell you a game if you're underage just like you can't get into an R rated movie if you're not 17 so how is the kid getting the games in the first place?

I think more than pussies, Americans are hypocritical as f*ck. They won't let their kids listen to music with "bad words" in them, but they have no problem swearing in front of their kids or letting them watch movies with shooting or killing in them.

People don't want their daughter to start hookin up wit guys at a young age, but yet they allow her to wear makeup at 12 years old and wear short skirts and shorts.

So yeah, I totally agree with you and I've noticed this for a long time. People need to stop worrying about what the f*ck everyone else is doing and worry about their damn selves and their own family. If you don't smoke weed, why be so hardcore about stopping others from doing it? They aren't affecting you at all.

If anything, some kids are more drawn to doing what's illegal because it's something that they "aren't suppose to do", and by nature, kids like to rebel at certain points. If marijuana was legal and accepted, it wouldn't really be as big of a deal to a lot of kids and I bet they would never start doing it.

I don't think that was necessarily the marijuana, it may have been the person. I used to smoke the shit every single day for a while and I function just fine right now. I know I'm not the only one either. There are tons of smart, successful people that smoke a ton of weed and they manage just fine.

This is true, different people have different reactions to marijuana. I smoke almost every day, and I feel that it actually improves my productivity because it makes working more fun.

I see what you're saying but I think your wrong. As you said, it was badly written but nobody knows that so how could that make it not pass if most people don't know what it really means? It still makes possession legal and the taxes won't make it more expensive than it is because the free market will bring the cost down by legitimate companies competing for the most competitive prices plus the price increases a lot do to the risk factor in selling it illegally.

No not at all what I'm saying. I would be a moron for saying that you are right. I'm just saying that the kid with the highest GPA is usually not the one smoking a joint after school. Your statement is not credible whatsoever. Who cares if your dipshit friends smoke weed everyday and seem stupid to you, that doesn't correlate at all to other individuals who may choose to smoke it or use thc based products. Sir Richard Branson the multi billionaire owner of Virgin Group has admitted to using marijuana regularly as well as a plethora of other businessmen and women, artists, musicians, actors, and regular everyday people. It's down to the individual how it affects a person(just like any other substance), and judging off who you know for side effects only makes you look like the stupid one.

probably the support base for the prop got too high and forgot to vote,

but seriously there are pros and cons obviously. It was not the best written prop and the Arnold's new law reducing possession from misdemeanor to infraction played a role aswell.
While it could have brought some revenue in and maybe reduced crime it would have brought large cooperation into the game who would have their own agenda.

PS: Cannabis has many more uses, including greener more sustainable alternative to cotton, paper etc. In regards to health impacts, it is relatively safe compared to "legal" substances like alcohol and cigarettes. It is not aggressive drug. How many times did you see a high person start a fight?

Prop 19 was just a wedge issue to get you lazy ass hippies to vote in the midterms. It was a last minute thing that never had a chance of passing.

Give it 5 or so years, and it will either be legal or decriminalized. But it only takes an hour to get a MMJ card anyways in Cali, so you're still lucky bastards.
