Hello Guys,

I was wondering something...

I use the www version for my website, So I set the cannonicalisation and the 301 Redirect of non-www to www version.

But I checked my website on MOZ (Open Site Explorer) and when I type in mywebsite.com I get 19 DA and 1 PA.

When I typed in www,mywebsite.com I get 19 DA and 32 PA.

So i would like to have some clarifications about how their domain authority and page authority system work. My PA of the www version is higher than my DA because almost all my link point to the www version and I do the 301 redirect. ?

But how can I increase my DA if I focus on building backlink to the www version of my website ?

Should I build link to the non-www version of my website to increase my DA even if I use the www version for my website ?

If I build backlink to the non-www version, will it increase the PA of the www version since it's has a 301 redirect ?

If I build backlink to the www version of my website will it increase the DA of my website ?

Im really confused here so any help and clarification from you guys will be really appreciated.

Thank You.

I know this is probably a noob question, but I really dont know the answer.

So really anybody cant help me out here ?

Thanks Guys ;)

Build your website on the version that has the bigger PA. "www" is basically a subdomain of your domain and thus they are like 2 different sites (www and non-www version). Build your site on the version that has better PA and redirect the other one to that version.

my website is built on the www version and the www version has the highest PA. The non-www version redirect to the www version. But can I increase my DA if I only build backlink to the www version ?

Or it will only increase the PA ? And I need to build backlink to the root non-www domain to increase my DA ?

Thanks

.

Incoming links (backlinks) to a certain page will only increase PA for that specific page

Incoming links to that specific page, and/or to all the other pages, will help to increase the DA

Thus, all your incoming links will help to increase the DA

Isn't it more natural to have links in both root and www version?

But will my DA increase more/faster if I build link to the non-www version ?

Or it has the same importance/value as the other pages ?

thanks

It doesnt matter where you build links to when it comes to DA (Domain Authority), as that is a score of the overall domain name. PA is specific to the page you are checking, so www.mydomain.com's PA is the homepage's Page Authority.

To increase DA build link to any page on your domain.

To increase PA on some pages, build links to those pages.

You can't increase PA on a page that has 301 and it doesn't matter since it's redirected.

Last thing - Good PA or DA doesn't mean squat, focus on building powerful links that help you rank. Even if DA doesn't follow, who cares as long as you are ranking?
