C-Class Link Question

Hey,

I have two sites in the same niche. they are hosted on the same server, are on the same google analytics, adsense, webmaster, etc. Bottom line is, Google knows they're connected.

Site 1 is old and ranking well.
Site 2 is new and is starting to rank well as I do more work.

I want to link from site 1 to site 2 because it will be a highly relevant, high PR homepage link that should give site 2 a nice kick in the ass. The sites are on the same C-Class. The only way for me to change that is to change one of them to another hosting which is a pain. I would have to change databases as well etc.

Is having one link from the same C-Class like that going to hurt me (or just not help me)? Is it worth the effort of moving one of the sites to another host even though the sites are obviously connected through those other Google services?

Advice much appreciated. Thanks,
YellowHats

The exact same thing I did on my Case Study blog and you know what I'm still not affected by any animals on my domain.

I have even given backlink with Anchor Text, but till now everything is fine. My suggestion is to go and do it. My blogs are already 6-7 months old and still driving crazy traffic. Still experiments are going on, and which succeeds I'm implementing them on my money sites.

Do it. Linking one page to another do not change anything. Would be a problem if you had 100 backlinks out of 100 from the same C class IP as your website

I ѕеrіоuѕly dоubt hаvіng dіffеrеnt c clаѕs IPs mаtters аll thаt muсh, іf thе rеst оf thе IP іѕ thе sаmе. Pluѕ thеrе's tоo mаny othеr factоrs Google cаn uѕe tо tеll іf pages/sіtes аrе "affiliаted", lіkе host locаtiоn, whоіѕ, еtc.

Thеrе's a vеrу impоrtаnt соncept іn Google SEO cаlled "Hilltоp", whіch IMO hаѕ аlwауѕ bеen іgnоrеd tо a grеаt dеgrеe bу "SEOers" thаt соncentrаted tоo muсh оn PageRаnk.

Hilltоp іѕ simply thе соncept оf Google trуіng tо tеll іf pages аrе "affiliаted" (оwned bу thе sаmе реrsоn оr соnnected іn othеr wауs). Affiliаted pages thаt lіnk tо еасh othеr wоn't pаѕs аѕ muсh lіnk juice (іf аny) аѕ pages thаt аrе соnsiderеd bу Google tо bе nоn-affiliаted. And C block IP addrеsses іѕ оnly оne factоr thаt Hilltоp cаn uѕe.

If аnyоne іѕ асtuаllу іnterеsted іn hоw Google рrоbаblу deals wіth lіnkіng, I suggest rеadіng uр оn Google's Hilltоp соncept.

only two sites on same hosting having same ip does not hurt you, the problem starts when you have more than 50 sites and your link them with each other, still known as spam,,, well the problem is it would be convey your power to other blog , it will give more power if you have two different hosting,
simply, linking them does not make bad effect neither too good effect as compare to different c class ips
