For every 1 that go offline, 2 new ones will come online

well who cares, there so many private trackers they update every tvshow,games etc the fastest. you can go mininova and check most of the files (the new ones) over there are on private trackers just go register on them and you got much better torrent source ;]

Although there are other loads of private trackers available, but still I used to visit mininova frequently, that's sad news.

I'll be kind enough to point at the organization that caused this: "Brein". Dutch copyright protection agency. They prosecuted MiniNova and ThePirateBay. They deserve to die.

Sites fall, it happens. Others will take their place as the price for digital media continues to rise and more people become aware of the fact that they can get the shit for free if they look hard enough.

TPB is still going and (I believe) that several VIP members are making a serious effort to backup the torrent database so that as long as you have a list of working trackers, you'll still be able to get what you need. You just won't have the uber popular search engine to help you pick and choose. That's a good thing BTW. Popularity is what's killing the torrent scene.

Bad news indeed..

Nowadays hardly a week passes without some bad news related to internet marketing.. FTC mandates, CL changes, Google Algorithm changes, Secret services seizing servers, shutting down of sites etc.

But we need to keep our head high and stay ahead in the game.. That's the only way to survive..

You guys should look into usenet, I use it to download everything I need and it works great. Alot safer than torrents too. PM me if you want a usenet beginners guide.

Great list Ouroboros. Some are outdated but it is a good start for anyone who thinks the only trackers are mininova and demonoid.
