Buzzsumo Vs Scrapebox for blog outreach

I've been tinkering with BuzzSumo and love way it can show who is linking to the most influential content for any niche. I then grab the list of who is linking and hand it over to my VA to make contact with the key influencers to try and get them enthusiastic about linking to my own blog posts. Lovely jubbly.

But as with a lot of great services like BuzzSumo I can't help but wonder if ScrapeBox could perform the same function?

So far I've got as far as scraping blogs using my target keywords, then using the Moz PA and DA authority checker to rank the results in order of who should be approached first. But the results so far are junk, the relevance is miles off compared to BuzzSumo.

Am I missing something obvious or are my footprints just rubbish?

I am a little surprised that nobody has replied to this. Cracking this would be incredibly useful for anyone doing white hat link building.

I think you can kinda get the same results with Scrapebox, using the Social Checker Addon, but you still need to scrape all the keywords yourself.
Have you tried with a specific keyword to see what tool brings you the best results (quality / quantity) ?

I'm testing footprints at the moment. I've used scrapebox a lot, but never for scraping!

I've selected blog posts in 'platforms' and am using intitle:keyword
