Buying YouTube Subscribers Question

I've been hearing about people buying subs for years now, and I just don't understand the purpose.

Buying views, comments, and likes I can understand because it provides a way to receive social engagement which thus boosts your rankings, but this? Why?

What's the point to buying fake subs who, from what I can gather, will do nothing but make your channel seem illegitimate? Do they really bring anything to the table?

the same reason I think, buying subs seems that their channel is bigger and more important... In my country when a channel appears on national tv they only mention how many subscribers the video has and how many views.

I guess i could see that. You would have to have a good amount of videos each with decent engagement and a good views to subscriber ratio to really make it seem legit though
 
Bump - does anyone else have some insight?
 
I think if you're starting from 0 subs with no videos at all, maybe you could buy 100 or so and start building organically at the same time but beyond that it's worthless.

I cant really see the point behind buying subscribers apart from making an illusion of your Chanel being bigger. Youtube channels only really work if you have active user engagement if you dont have that then you have an obvious fake youtube channel.
 
If you don't know, Buying subs is a matter of making money. Apart from Views, Likes and Comments. To get money, you need to be parthnered with a network. And networks need a decent amount of subscribers and views.

I've seen it happen to people before and it's happened to one of my channels. I believe it's because youtube can tell those are all junk, spam accounts that don't offer anything so they're banned.
 
Just remember that when you are buying any followers/subs etc that they will not interact with you.
 
people like to follow the herd, nobody wants to be the first so it's like having a twitter account of FB page. People will tend to subscribe if there are already subscribers than a big fat 0. You just seed the account as you do with facebook and twitter, sure some drop but over time more will come on board and gradually replace them
