I'm growing a personal account and am trying to grow reasonably and steadily. But with Instagram cracking down on bots I wonder if it's just better to buy and account in my niche rather than try and get growth on my personal account.

What's your experience? Where do you see Instagram going now?

The fastest way to grow your account right now is by using FB Ads. Yes, it's way harder than splashing the cash on a ready-made solution, but at least you can be confident in your followers. Unfortunately, with the way it goes now, it's obvious that Instagram will continue their war against bots to tunnel more people to their Ad platform.

I feel as if Facebook ads are dependent on a niche. If my niche is streetwear, young women fashion or anything targeting Gen Z/Younger Millenials, Facebooks ads are not going to reach them as strongly. But I don't know if there is much positive reception to non-corporate Instagram Ads. I have worked in Influencer Marketing for a fragrance company and we primarily used Instagram Ads and Facebook Ads but I don't know how successful that approach would be for a regular person vs a company,

Actually, there're a few interests you can pick out to get followers from the streetwear niche. At the end of the day, you won't know for sure until you try them out. $2 a day for a week should give you a fair idea whether that's a viable method for you.

Growth are still very possible. Even more easy after IG last updated wiped up sooo many competitors.
If you are on budget and have no time than I would go with purchasing an account.
If you are not on budget and have some time to spare than I would start to grow from scratch
