Buying targeted traffic for your link?

Has anyone ever had any luck buying targeted traffic and sending them straight to your affiliate link? Just wondering because I bought 5 000 visitors and it was only $26 so I thought it was worth a try. I've has about 180 hits so far but no luck with sales.

Would I be better off buying traffic and sending them to a page that says its good then supply the affiliate link?

That's exactly what I would do. An optimized landing page which converts random visitors to buyers is what you should use instead of sending them straight to the affiliate page. It means more work for you but I assure you it will pay off

What do you mean optimize the landing page? It wouldn't be too much more work, I would just buy an article for like $5 and copy + paste.

So are you saying get an article saying how good it is then at the end have a link that says buy it now it some shit?

Something like that, you got the idea! You have a great change to manipulate the visitor into thinking that they REALLY NEED that product/service before you direct them into the actual sales page through an affiliate link.

Hey every, cheers for the replies.

The traffic turned out to be a dud. I have had about 800UVs so far and all with 100% bounce rate and 0sec on site and 0 sales. I'm guessing the vendors scrape proxies and use a bot or outsource to people wanting to make some cash.

I have receive a PM from a member and I will try that out and them post results and method.
