Buying space in newsletter

When you have a "project" and want to buy media space in newsletter, which are the best email newsletter directories that you use for identifying good fit with your product ?

If not, how do you identify newsletter that could be interesting ? Is there a tool for this?

If your product or service is affiliate-marketing related I would check out WTAFF.

They can show you a media kit with demos and pricing.

To be honest for this type of outreach i always go manually. IE google searching for lists, or fitting websites that might have lists.

Maybe it might be too time consuming for some people / projects, but i don't like paying for trash, and easy entry barrier for everyone, usually leads to trash.

On the other hand, if they can back it up with REAL data, well they might be worth a try.
