Buying "Safe" Stocks

Anytime you are putting your hard earned cash into the hands of speculators be prepared for risk. People who are losing everything
right now including retirement invested in safe ventures and companies. Best defense is a good offense and by that I mean think about
investing your money in something that will grow and a company maybe not on the stock market. Possibly your own company.

EDIT: Population of the world is growing fast and guess what? Necessities will become more valuable in a decade than they are today. Maybe a company like
Johnson & Johnson would fit your needs?

I dont know why no one has mentioned hedge funds..I dont know how much OP is looking to invest but i know few hedge funds that are giving returns around 20% but of course minimum investment is 100k so that might be a problem
