Buying PR links

Someone said that buying high PR links is useless! Is that true?
I have a new website with PR0 and I would like to get to PR3. I was thinking of buying like 50 links from PR4 sites.
Would that help? If you say NO - why not?
If yes - that would be great.
From what I know, if you get 30 PR4 links to your site, you will get PR3 in matter of 1 month time. Is that correct?

I'm doing that for the wix guys for 4 months and they still buy links, every week 2 or 3 links with pagerank

With low OBL you don't need anywhere near 40 PR4 sites to get your site up to PR3. One very strong PR4 will do it, 3 or 4 would be pretty safe, if you get the link on an actual PR4 page that is.

buying high pr is not useless by any means. just make sure they are relevant to your niche and buy them out gradually

and keep building links gradually to your website. a new website with little content having only high pr links would cause a penalty for your site.

Who is that idiot that said HP links not useful for your site? make your backlinks with High PR site and because with OBL and spam comments.If you are not sure make 10 - 20 backlinks and see the results.

Its just a simple pagerank fake, probably a since removed 301 to a genuine PR9. Its worthless.
Why people bother to fake huge PR is beyond me. Faking a 3 or 4 might get by unnoticed, but 9! lol

High PR links work great with my SEO efforts, blog posts,comments and blogrolls seem to always work best for me. Make sure they have low OBL like under 60 or so should be be good for your site.

One important aspect to consider is the trust of the page where you purchased the link from. If a page/site is known for selling links then the trust is going to be very low and more than likely worthless.

You could purchase a pr9 link on a page that is full of obvious blog roll links and pay stupid amounts of money as some people assume its going to give them better rankings.

The truth is many people have not experienced earning an actual quality backlink.

If you was to earn a link from the homepage of adobe.com then your domain would earn enough authority to outrank near enough anyone, the problem is you wouldn't be able to purchase a link on adobes homepage even if you offered them 10 million dollars.

Google uses separate algorithms to determine trust and authority therefore you should not determine buying a link based on pr alone.

Do not rely on the seomoz moz metrics in determining if a page is high quality as there algorithms do not take into account any paid links.

Generally if a page is ranking high on google and earning a high amount of traffic from the organic results then google considers that page to be highly trusted which would make that page worth buying a link from even if it's on a pr0 page.

If you are going to buy the occasional link then you should be looking for high pr quality links. If you're going to buy a load of worthless links in bulk then you're basically telling google hey look at me I'm trying to cheat your algorithm.
