If you have an EMD for a good keyword for an adsense site, would it be wise to buy out the other EMD's for the same word like the . NET .ORG and .INFO ?

Lets clear up some confusion.
The Google update did not specifically target EMD's
It specifically targeted low quality EMD's
Its is the combination of the EMD and a number of other signals that results in the slap, not just having an EMD.
Back to the OP, yes this is a wise strategy - an even wiser strategy would be to build sites out on them with cheap hosting and use them as tier 1 backlinks ^^

It will help to command higher price if you decide to sell the domain later on to someone who wants to establish themselves with that keyword EMD on the web.
If you can get them for good value then it certainly couldn't hurt. I really like the idea posted by another member saying that you could build sites and use them for backlinks.
That's a really good idea. As long as it's a worthwhile EMD, of course, I wouldn't go buying up a bunch of domains just because they are unique. Uniqueness plus quality plus quantity equals a good investment.
