Do you see any risk to buying quality links from a relevant site for 6 months (sitewide) and then removing it? As long as you build thousands of links in the mean time shouldn't get kicked in the ball by Google right?

I am not stating buying lots of links and then cancelling them all at the same time.

By removing the links, you'll be removing that link juice and PageRank.

While that means that you may not lose rankings immediately, theres a good chance that you'll see rankings drop over the coming weeks, months or years.

In other words you'd have to replace those with the same quality links to maintain your rankings.

ok thanks SuperLinks. I have done a good job at building quality backlinks so I don't think that will be a problem. Will keep everyone updated though :) Worse comes to worse will just buy the links again :)

I did this before and it did change the PR on some of the interior pages. Didn't hurt the main domain since most of the main domain links were still there.

I had about 10,000 indexed pages and thought I didn't need the links any longer and killed them. Like the other post stated, you just don't know what you're deleting (PR) when mass deleting.
