Buying HR Views, does it really work?

So recently I had been beginning to doubt how effective buying HR views is. I did an experiment- I bought HR views from a very credible seller on BH, I won't say who. I bought 2000 views each for 2 videos. Recorded where they were for 2 keywords, which are low-medium competition keywords.

Then a few days after the views had been applied, I checked to see where these videos were now ranked. The were still in exactly the same place, this lead me to believe that buying HR views isn't effective.

What are your thoughts on this?

Why do people in 2015 still think that ranking videos is only about BUYING THE MOST HQ VIEWS ? There are many other factors that play a role.
 
What about your video description, title and tags?
Video likes? social shares? backlinks? embedded locations?
What about comments and favorites?
Were the keywords in the name of the video and thumbnail files when you uploaded them?
What about subscribers driven directly through the sub button on the videos watch page?

I don't believe that comments, favourites, likes work either and SEOChat have proven this, I would post link but I can't

They prove that aside from watch time, the only factors worth caring about are channel age and keywords

That's not what I said, but I was questioning their effectiveness, the videos already had all metadata and titles done, the factor I was questioning was HR views. And I believe other stuff like likes and comments isn't effective as Google knows this is easy to forge
 
yt tend to be a secretive lot but have made it pretty clear while a vid that receives a flurry of activity within a short time will float to the top fast it'll also fall fast as it's seen as trending and not an authority video ( not counting the channels natural authority ) , whereas a steady delivery over a longer period is an indication that the video is solid and more authoritative. and then there's user engagement yada yada ya 2c4ya

buy 500 Google+ and you will get ranked instantly, high retentin views sometimes get 4 days to a week to get effects
 
Getting hr YouTube views is only apart of the solution not the whole solution itself.

And what else would you say is part of the solution? I have already pointed to evidence that comments, likes and favourites don't seem to do much
 
Just an update... I bought dripfeed HR views and looked at a different video. The dripfeed views helped to rank the video really well. I went from page 3 to 1 on a competitive keyword in my niche, and moved from positiion 8 to 3 on page 1 of a less competitive keyword

Thanks for you advice, but I'm sceptical about likes. The SEOChat article, posted by Eklundh above shows good evidence for likes, comments and favourites not being effective
