Buying Expired Domain for New E-Commerce Site?

I know a lot of people are scooping up expired domains with great backlink profiles for use in their PBN's. Much question is, would purchasing an expired domain for use as a new e-commerce site hold similar value?

If the site was an e-commerce from previous owner, then I wouldn't recommend to you as it will be against Registered Mark. Check if the site having any trademarks or not.

Good point. I was not looking to necessarily get a site that was previously an e-commerce site. In fact, I was hoping I'd be able to find a blog that covers the same niche, that way the inbound link profile would be on target. Of course, the next step is figuring out how to find these domains as I've had zero luck in that department thus far.
 
i have some smiler question like...i got some expired or deleted domain and they have some record of their past like PR2-4,backlinks from many sites also with other SEO related thing.If i register this kind of domain,is it will help me from their past records?Sorry for my bad English.

I use them as long as they have decent incoming links and they are in the same niche
 
You can use it, you just need to make sure that it is not penalized before and also do some background check on wayback whether it is a well established domain owned by any company. Otherwise you can use it instead of creating a new website.
 
Don't overlook the importance of a brand name with e-commerce sites though - an expired domain might look great thanks to its existing backlinks, but if the CTR from Google and subsequent conversion rate is worse because the name doesn't quite match the thing being sold, then it's probably not worth it even if it does rank quicker.

I definitely agree with you here. I'm just getting started with buying expired domains and finding it a lot more difficult than I thought it would be to find the type of quality that I've been looking for. For a PBN site, I wouldn't care much about the domain name but for an e-commerce site, I definitely want something relevant or catchy.
 
I agree with Steve. I'd rather have a brand new domain for my new e-commerce site that I could brand fairly well instead of a domain with good TF/CF/DA/all that.
 
Look for expired e-commerce site on expireddomains.net, do a lot of search.. there should be some. In case if you cannot find one on e-commerce niche, Go ahead and buy a new domain.
Don't waste your time in building a e-commerce on a Expired unrelated niche... It is not going to carry the same weightage..
