Buying expired domain for getting aged ?

I found a domain which was hosted on 2011 and expired on last month , the domain age is pretty good so I like to buy it . Will I get those age if I buy that expired domain ?

I could say yes, because it expired domain and not Deleted one.

Check the link profile of the domain to see if there are any spam links, if the domain have bad links or it was hammered by google the domain is worthless.

You keep the whios creation date (birth year) of expired domains, so yes.

It's not possible to keep the Whois Creation Date for Pending Delete Domains and Deleted Domains.
When you Backorder or Register a Domain from those Pending Delete Domains and Deleted lists, you will automatically create a new Whois Record and get a new Creation Date.

This is what I use for aged domains. You can set filters to thin out the lists and it's been useful for me

Ohh thanks for the information , btw how can I know that the domain is deleted ? The domain was expired on yesterday and when I search about it in whoishosting it says its an invalid domain.

Hi,
I'm not a domain expert and someone else might be able to be more helpful here, but the whoishosting presumably is 'invalid' because there isn't actually a site hosted anywhere for your domain at the moment.

You can search on domains on the expired domains site for info. about expiration, links domain authority etc

Here is how the expired/deleted thing works (I cut and pasted this from internet btw)

EXPIRED: A domain name that has expired can stay in the Expired status from 1 to 45 days. 45 days is the maximum. Most Registrars use between 28 and 45 days for their Expired status. A domain name in the EXPIRED status can still be renewed quickly and inexpensively for the cost of a one year registration.

REDEMPTION GRACE PERIOD (RGP): After a domain name has been through the EXPIRED status it falls into RGP where is remains for 30 days. This period is ICANN mandated and cannot be shortened. Once a domain name falls into RGP it becomes much more expensive to retrieve and renew.

PENDING DELETE: After the RGP a domain enters the PENDING DELETE status and cannot be renewed or redeemed. Domain names are PENDING DELETE for 5 days. After five days the domain name will be released to the public and anyone can register the name, - it's 'born again.'

Are you saying that we cant buy expired domain ? We only can be deleted domain ?

Check the domain at whois.domaintools.com, if it was deleted/dropped you should see something like this:

Hi, when a domain expires the owner has a period of time that he can renew the domain, after that the domain drops, gets deleted and can be registered by anyone but the registration date will start again.
Except if you buy an expired domain in an auction, using like godaddy auctions, then because they sell the domain before it drops, it will keep the previous registration date.

If the domain has expired then it means everybody can register it for registration price and the age of the domain has been reset.

You must check domain backlink profile, may be there some spam links.

This Moz article is 6 yrs old but I think some concepts and tips are still relevant till today. Also note that if a domain that has gone through the drop process loses all of its value.

whatever mate , the thing is that if you are gonna use this domain for a PBN site focus more on the backlink profile the site has , if backlinks are from authority and trusted site , check the anchor texts , check the domain on archive.org and screenshots for any chinese spam texts , if it's clean along with a clean anchor and backlink profile then register it

There's debate as to whether or not Google penalizes a domain once it has expired/been dropped. I don't know if it's true, but why not take over a domain that is live and indexed?

Google your keywords and go a few pages deep. Look for sites that haven't been updated in a while, and email the owner offering him $$ to transfer the domain to you. If they aren't updating it, chances are they will flog it for the right price.

If you can buy it from godaddy, it's keeping the age. Is it 2011 or 2012 etc. you need to check via whois. It might be dropped before somewhere along the line since it's first registered. If you can register it anywhere, then it's a deleted domain and has no age at all.

What difference it gets? Google doesn't give a shit whether the domain that your site is sitting on was expired once or twice or not. Your visitors don't give a shit either. So what's a deal?
