Buying Ethereum, is it worth it?

It is so hard for a n00b to predict which Crypto is going to blow up next and pretty much everything else you read from other places turns out to be wrong. Is bying Ethereum worth it?

If so what would be the best way to go about buying some? What sites and wallets to use etc?

Damn this Crypto stuff is hard for me lol

Noone knows for sure, you just have to do your research and make your choices.

Its hard for everyone, theres a reason the vast majority of people don't remortgage their house and sell everything to go all in with a crypto. Noone know's whats going to happen with it.

My main holding is Ethereum, followed by OmiseGo and finally a small amount of bitcoin. In all honesty, I don't think buying bitcoin right now is a good idea as its due a correction. Ethereum has had a few issues highlighted recently by cryptokitties but the Ethereum team predicted it and were already working on solutions to counter the problems as well as other rollouts to make the system better. OmiseGo probably won't have their system live until Q2/3 2018 so I am not expecting any major crypto gains until the backend 2018 or early 2019.

I have read/watched a bunch of Warren Buffett interviews and it seems he always advises you plan for at least 5 years with investing and that you be happy with a 6-7% return on anything you put in stocks. Crypto can currently offer you much more than this but IMO the risk is also much higher and I have been very lucky with my early stuff.

heres a not so perfect logic for buying ethereum:

now that bitcoin investing has gone mainstream, more ppl are flocking to buy it. they sign up with the most mainstream bitcoin investment site - coinbase. they then see 2 other coins for sale - ethereum and litecoin. they see they are cheaper than bitcoin, and they buy.

Confirmed this works it's exactly what I did back in September :p then I read into a bunch of cryptos, kept my bitcoin, sold my litecoin, increased my ether and bought a few tokens.
