buying camera from amazon

Hi guys?!

Do you have any experience buying things like camera from US like Amazon.com?
What things should I pay attention to?

What is the positive and negative things I should pay attention to, before I decide to buy?

Hey, please specify what you mean? Do you mean you want to buy sth from amazon.com but you live outside the us? or do you want information about a specific product or category? its not quite clear to me....
 
Need more info, it isn't clear from your post what information exactly you're looking for. A still camera? As a bit of an amateur photographer, I can tell you that at the moment Canon and Nikon are universally considered the top brands. What kind of camera are you looking for? DSLR or point&shoot?
 
Pay attention to new/used.. User ratings and merchant ratings..

Are you purchasing from somewhere other than the US? Since you mentioned it..

If your looking for a camera.. Search around under yahoo/flickr images for pictures and quality.. Sometimes on the page you can find out what camera people use. It's a good indicator on what type of quality output a camera is able to produce.

Assuming you are asking about teh merchant experience.

I bough camera from Amazon before and it's ok.

But, I much prefer to buy from BH (just type BH camera in G ). They are the best IMO.
Just bought another camcorder this week + wireless mic and some other stuff. Top service.

I only know a bit about camera.
I want to buy Digicam Canon PS 2000AIS - any review about this camera?
I heard that US uses 110 Volt, different from my country. Although I know that the camera is using
batteries, I wonder if there is any negative impact later.

Also about guarantee-since I buy from outside country, may be I would not use the guarantee.

About tax?..Wow, I have to check about this.

Hi guys,
I want to share:

I have checked, that if I'm using Fedex with insurance, the price is quiet a lot, and it has not included the tax.

If you want to get the cheaper one use forwarder service. But I think I'll just buy from my own country. It is a lot easier.

You might want to check into the battery thing, lots of cameras have proprietary batteries with proprietary chargers so it may only work on 120v.
 
all you going to need is a converot which converts frm 110v to 220v
 
i bought this cple weeks ago, canon IXUS 960 and works wanders. good pics to
