Hi,
If one is to buy an IG account with a high following - are there any risks involved in losing the account?

Ive been told the seller will always have a way to recover it.

Thanks
Luka

I have had several business partners in the Instagram growth space. They would basically flip accounts, buy the accounts at 10k followers, grow them to hundreds of thousands, reimburse their initial investment through selling shout outs -- and then either sell the account for $$$$ or continue to sell shout outs.

Through this whole process, there has always been a risk of losing an account because buying/selling accounts is against Instagram's TOS.

But the question is: can Instagram detect a transfer of ownership?

I would say most likely not. Because all you're doing is accessing the account through a different IP address and phone. People move around constantly and it is not uncommon for one account to be accessed from many different IPs and locations. Obviously this changes if you're operating at scale of hundreds of accounts -- but of you're just managing a couple of accounts you should be fine.

Good luck!

Make sure you take the original email from em if not make sure the seller is reputable

Yes the owner can take the account ANY TIME back until eternity. Only buy from people that have a reputation to lose.

Owner can take it back ? In all cases, even if he gives the email ? How they verify ownership then, with IP ?

- You can't proof that it is the original E-Mail in any circumstance
- Account details can always reverted back to old revisions of the contact details
- You can pay someone to take the account back (via Instagram). Costs around 1k$
- Enough information regarding account creation is enough if you feel lucky to go that route
- Even if someone gives you the original E-Mail access to the email account can be regained via the original E-Mail provider

There is literally sooooo many ways.

Yeah this worries me, been told by a friend pretty much the same thing. So there's literally no way to safely secure myself?

I'm not worried that IG would detect the transfer, but rather the seller down the road deciding he wants the account back (whether in a few days, or months)

Be sure to buy from a reputable seller.

There are a fair few threads in the marketplace.

I would advice you just to go with people who are in the business for long time + reputation.
At the end of the day their reputation is more important than 50k profile which are they making weekly :)

-You can find the original email by logging into the account via a browser, going to profile > settings > account data > former emails. The email at the most bottom is the og email.

-I don’t know how you mean that the account details can be reverted back. All “revert this change” links on previous email expire after 24-48 hrs. That’s why it’s advised to temporarily disable IG account right after buying, for 24 hrs. It even breaks Social Media links. Always accept Personal accounts. If the account is business, ask the seller to unlink FB and convert to personal account.

-Paying someone requires contacts in Instagram, plus it won’t be really worth to pay $1k to recover an account unless it has over a million followers.

-Only access to OG email and previous usernames are to be known to regain access to account via emailing Instagram, which you’ll know after you login.

-If you get access to OG email, you can change the password, Change recovery email and number, enable 2-factor authentication, and it’ll be very safe.

I’ve been buying/selling IG accounts for over a couple years. You can always completely secure an account.

As mentioned above Luka, only deal with reputable sellers. I've bought a couple of great accounts from guys on here and never had an issue.

You are referring to a new feature that might go away any time.

You can trigger previous account detail revisions without any of those "revert this change" E-Mails. I am thankful not many people know these things.

Amount of Followers VS dollars is not the only measurement you evaluate accounts at. When it is about competitors or any other things not based on the total amount of followers (demographic, buying power of your followers, trust score of the account, etc.). A healthy 100k account can easily be worth 1k$. We are talking about marketing value not just 7$/1000 followers bullshit. And no it does not require someone "in" Instagram. I do not work for Instagram and still do account merging, unbans and verifications.

Where does it show the IP used for account creation? Device model? All this information can be used for restoring an account.

As with most E-Mail providers all that can be reverted if you still have access to the signup phone number (look what sellers do with mail.ru and rediffmail.com, these can be retaken any time. We have tested that in the past. It is not super easy but can be done).

Go with a seller that have good reputation and did not afraid to provide you proof that their service is real. Or maybe they can even provide you with guarantee. That's mean their service is can be trusted

Be careful. I've been warned by friends that people will sell the account, then wait 6 months after Paypal payment and take the account back. After 6 months you can't open a dispute through Paypal.
