A cousin has been offered to purchased an existing ebay business with 4000+ feedback and stock due to the current owner becoming ill.
Now ebays t&cs say you can't sell or transfer account but I see lots of people on here do buy and sell ebay accounts and i assume get away without detection?

So I want to know what is the likelihood of ebay detecting the change of ownership and suspending the account? As obviously they will need to change the account email address, paypal account, business address etc from the existing owners to my family members details and i dont know if that would then cause it to be flagged with ebay.

My cousin has a personal ebay account they use already but not a business account. So will they need to be using proxys, VPNs etc to successfully pull it off? As that is probably beyond their ability to do if that is the case.

FYI The business is selling legitimate items and unbranded so there should be no vero issues or any other problems with what they are selling. Its just the transfer of the account that is of worry.

Yes, you can definitely can use that eBay.
Be sure to know how to run it properly using the stealth principles.
It is not needed to change all of the info/details of the accounts - it will not be flagged if you did the change using the original cookies/history, and IP used but most likely they will not send over the paypal account attached to it, no? - and that would be your problem later on.
Also, i had one issue on one of my eBay stealth accounts, when i attached a new paypal for it. eBay asked for a "ownership proof" of the account, so that's one of your problems when you attach a new paypal accoun to that ebay account.

I don't think the business is being sold with the paypal account included, as it wasn't mentioned in any of the information. Although it does come with a domain name for the business website, so if they have used an email address created on the business domain name it should be easy enough to set up a [email protected] paypal
But I dont think my cousin will want to run it 'stealth' as they are not technically very savvy and they live a long distance away from me so I could not show them how to do it.

You should be fine with everything aside from changing the PayPal address. That may be okay but could potentially cause some issues- for example, if their PayPal is ever restricted yours may be as well. Your information on PayPal may also need to match that which is on your eBay account. You should keep the same name on the eBay account as is on the PayPal account. So if you change it from the original owner and do not want to use your own name to keep it unlinked to your accounts you will need to use a 3rd party name (it can be a "pen name" if you would like).

eBay does not allow the transfer of eBay accounts, but if the account is owned by a business such as an LLC you can legally buy the LLC which owns the account, therefore, coming into ownership of the account without the account's ownership changing if that makes sense. This would not be against the TOS.

Fortunately, you don't need to know anything about stealth to use a stealth account as you can use 3rd party applications. DM us if you have any questions and we will try to guide you in the right direction.

This advice is not meant to help you break eBay's rules- but rather uses stealth tactics to help you avoid false positives in their automatic restriction systems. Otherwise, you will run into a lot of headaches with their support down the road and waste both of your time- probably without reaching any real outcome.
