my SEO guy recommended that I should start buying clicks or ads for people that are searching for questions about the service business I'm in on chatGPT. what do you guys think?

Way too early to get a concrete decision either way. They are launching in Europe imminently; I think they are worth experimenting but nobody knows for sure just yet.

I’d test it, but I wouldn’t move a big budget into it before seeing actual leads

ChatGPT Ads are now a real option and they can run on CPC, so the idea itself isn’t crazy. The important part is that you’re not really buying a normal keyword like Google Search. The system looks at the conversation and intent signals when deciding where an ad is relevant.

For a service business I’d start with a small test around high intent questions and send people to a page that directly answers the problem and gives them a clear next step

Then track the whole funnel with UTMs and conversions. I’d care much more about cost per qualified lead than clicks

If 100 clicks give you traffic but no calls or enquiries then it’s not useful just because the clicks came from ChatGPT. If the leads are good and the cost makes sense compared with Google Ads then scale it

I’d also ask your SEO guy whether he means actual ChatGPT Ads or trying to get the business mentioned organically in AI answers because those are two completely different strategies

first of all, I want to give it a try with just a small budget. Imo, the main factor that make a campaign effective is the generation of high-quality lead.

I think its worth testing if the service fits ChatGPT’s current ad categories start with a small budget and track conversions rather than just clicks. ChatGPT Ads can target conversational intent so it’s different from traditional keyword ads.

I dont think you can just buy ads on ChatGPT like Google Ads. Better focus on SEO, content and being mentioned in relevant places.

Don't focus only on clicks. Make sure the landing page answers their questions and has a clear next step.

IMHO, worth a shot if your budget is low, but judge its effectivenes by lead nd conversions, not by clicks alone. Traffic from ChatGPT can be entirely different from Google search traffic.

Yeah, I think it’s worth testing, especially if those questions show strong buying intent. ChatGPT now supports CPC and conversion-optimized campaigns, so you can measure actual leads instead of just clicks.

I’d start with a small budget around your highest-intent questions and track cost per qualified lead, not traffic.
