Buying a site from e-bay

OK, I am probably going to sound really stupid to a lot of BHWers, but here goes:

I looked at the sample sites provided by 'The Only Game' and they looked really good.

But I was also on e-bay and I noticed someone selling a site for much the same price, in their blurb they stated that the site would offer:
Search engine optimization ready
Free marketing tools and manual
Social media ready
Google Analytic's
Autoblogger
Complete Setup

As it just uses a lot of the terms I see on here all the time I don't know if I am just being hoodwinked.

Are these bona fide deals on e-bay or is what is being offered by OP the same thing?

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, everything was good (100%) but again from reading in here I'm not sure if he can manipulate the reviews!

I don't know what price you are refering to but usually my rule of thumb is if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. That being said, you can do your usual background checks on the site. If you do not know what these background checks are, then you are a tender spring chicken for scammers, and need to do a lot of reading up.

LOL at tender spring chicken. Probably right which is why I try to check on things first. When I referred to a price I was meaning the same as TheOnlyGame quoted on his thread -

It looks as though the one on e-bay is all set up ready for driving traffic and nothing else to do. But I could be completly naive too.

Just give it a try as part of your overall online strategy. Don't buy it, to expect to sit back, and watch the cash roll in.

success is what you have left, after eliminating the failures. as long as you have the resources, and its not going to cost you much, give it a try. normally ebay sellers require you to sign up for their hosting packages.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Ebay offers any guarantees on non-tangible goods.

PayPal does not offer any security on intangible goods so this guy could very well be a con.

Really!!

There are so many of them for sale on e-bay,

Obviuosly as I have been looking through this site I see a lot of phrases and the seller on e-bay uses them all too.

SEO, Autoblog, CPA

I thought maybe it was a site that had been created and all I would need to do would be start getting traffic.

Uch well! Guess I'll have another look at TheOnlyGame thread and maybe buy a blog from him.

Pity though!

Most of the sites for sale on ebay are cookie cutter sites.

Someone buys a domain name, throws up a template site, tweaks small parts of it and says it will make you money. The unfortunate thing with them is they are just that.... cookie cutter sites. Google wants to see uniqueness in order to rank it... which gives you traffic... which in turn, makes you money.

Being that it is probably not a unique site... you won't make any money.

However, if it doesn't cost too much and you have some skills... I hope you prove me wrong!

The positive feedback might be legit but it could be from buyers who are not that experienced and are not familiar with this site, also, you have to take price into account to what you're getting. If I pay for a $10 SEO service, my expectations are going to be different than if I'm paying $1000. I would look at the sample sites of both parties and maybe even hit up the guy here on BHW with a PM and show him the demo of the other guy and ask him to clarify why he's charging more.
