Buying a new laptop tomorrow. PLEASE HELP! Advice needed.

So I'm breaking down and buying a Windows laptop. I want to use all this Windows based SEO software that my macbook won't run...

Anyway we have an unclaimed baggage right near us and I've seen some amazing deals there, but I'm not sure what I should be looking for in a laptop. I want to use it for running campaigns with GSA and some other software on autopilot pretty much 24/7. It will be ABUSED!!! So I need a lot of power behind it.

So what things should I look out for? I know I need a fair it of RAM. What other things will make it run faster. Note that it will only be used for SEO software.

Thanks in advance for your help. I'm making the trip tomorrow.

Get a SSD on it, even if its the smallest one.

Once you go SSD you never go back, that's for sure!

Also, I would go for an i7 processor, those things run pretty well.

By the way, what is your budget? 800?1200?
 
I was also a MAC user but since i started getting serious with SEO, i switched to windows.

Go for a big processor i7 what i suggest and ram you can add when ever you like. Just keep that thing in optional
 
24/7 is no good for laptops in general - small size and cooling dont go well together usually.
IMHO its better to go with Desktop PC, you can get better specs for cheaper price, and it will live longer.

I'm using

Get a notebook that is directed towards a business user. And like the other guy said, SSD is the way to go. Get yourself a semi-old Thinkpad T420,T430, T520,530 and a cooling pad. IMHO, it will run for longer than any ACER, ASUS, HP etc
 
Lenovo, 8GB RAM good CPU :) Had one for about a year and it's a beast.

Ha ha. No way man. My budget is no more than $300... But please remember that I'm going to unclaimed baggage, not a retail store. So laptops are DIRT cheap. Cheapest I've ever seen all over the world... Except in Naples... But I'm pretty sure they were selling bricks in boxes... :)

Thanks for the processor advice. I'll look out for that one. I was just going to buy a laptop with a good processor and then buy extra RAM. It will be such a breath of fresh air to get a windows machine.

Wow that's a lot of RAM. Is that much necessary? Does it work well?

Depends, I mean I enjoy playing some modded Minecraft so sometimes I am using 3.5GB RAM with that and I have couple things going.

I use scrapebox for scraping and index checking. Few other things.
I use Ultimate Niche Finder

Rest I use on a VPS

8GB RAM is good if you do a lot of stuff. I treat my laptop like a desktop PC. :P
 
dont know much shit about laptops, just use them to make money. all the best though, think you've got enough penny of thoughts.

Thanks for the advice man. I really appreciate it. I've never had anything over 4GB.
 
RAM isn't everything, you need a good CPU too. Get Intel i5 or i7.
AMD I don't know much about.

Don't save money on a network card. You're going to regret it.

Specs matter most.
That's like saying you would buy a Lamborghini with a Prius engine.

If you want to run GSA 24/7,

Why not just purchase a vps for around $30-$40/months rather than a laptops that cost you $500++

a windows vps with 2GB RAM + Dual core processor is enough for GSA
