Hi guys - I am a bit of a newbie. I just wanted some opinions regarding the domain below.

I was reading @fasttrak's thread about repurposing expired domains and came accross this domain that is currently registered but being sold for about $900.

The domain leads to a dead link.

It seems to have loads of content on wayback machine.

The domain has a DA of 44 on Moz and does not appear to have been used for spam.

According to Ahref's, it is getting about 500 - 800 visitors daily (not sure if this is accurate) and has a traffic value as shown.

So, my questions are, is it worth it?

If I bought this domain, can I all the old content without modification & rewriting it and not be penalized by google?

Since the domain is not expired yet, does that mean I am likely to retain the authoritty ?

I was thinking of buying the domain (if it is worth it) then download everything using the wayback machine and do minimal modification to the content. I will update the layout of the side as the old layout looks very ugly.

Looking at the traffic value alone, I would have thought it is worth it as I will "break even" just from the traffic value in 4 months. But what do you guys think?

Well Ahrefs traffic value is just estimate.

You can not be sure about traffic value.

Domain metric is good.

So if you have budget go for it.

Further @Nargil and @splishsplash can provide more input.

Thanks @MisterXYZ

So I just clicked on the organic keywords which is showing as 5.7k .

However, when I search a few of the keywords that is supposed to be ranked at position 1, it is nowhere to be seen - any ideas why this maybe the case ?

What are your thoughts on this @fasttrak

Well the domain is most likely offline now, so keywords will start dropping, that's fine and normal.

All in all, from what you posted so far, it looks very good and you should go for it.

Thanks for the reply - if I bought the domain and reupload all the original content from a few years ago before the domain became a dead link, does the original keyword which is now no longer being ranked by google, get reindexed back to the top as per ahrefs suggestion as soon as the webpages get rebuilt? Also can I use the exact same articles word for word without getting penalised by Google ?

No, it most likely won't jump back if it has already been deindexed for a while.

And there's no reason for Google to penalize you, just make sure that nobody else has used to articles already.

Would you say there is a chance that the keywords that was previously being ranked be reranked close to or the same as what it was ranking before if I rebuild the old site (due to its existing authority)? Does the domain authority still remain since this domain hasn't actually expired yet?

just buy it use all old info.

cheek the content with Copyscape if articles are not duplicate.

WHY NOT USE MEMBER ON HERE @nargil FOR A GOOD DOMAIN HE A DOMAIN PRO.

"Authority" does not expire. And they might get reranked higher, yes.

Is there any way I can bulk check articles from the website I will/ have just restored for uniqueness ? Or would I need to manually go through them ? It would be extremely time consuming for a large site lol
