buying a .co Domain

Looking to setup a site, the word is related to the niche im looking to go into. The main extensions such as .com, net and org are taken but the .co however is available.
I personally love the look of the .co domains but are they really worth buying. Are there any disadvantages to buying a .co, any help would be appreciated.

I was in the same situation and I ended up buying the .co domain. As I would rather have the name I want rather than have some other name with a .com extension. But thats just me, the choise depends on ur specific needs I guess. I dont know of anything bad just because of the .co extension.

You can buy and rank a .co domain but you may need to set the geo location in G Webmaster to US / Uk etc or just leave it if targeting worldwide.

I have recently started buying .co domains because many people are letting good ones expire. I am actually using one now for my main business. Of course the Big G still loves the .com extension but I am seeing more and more .co creeping up to the top for my niche. Personally, I would now rather a .co than a .net or a .org . I think it looks better.

All domain extensions are equivalent in terms of SEO still there is public demand for .coms and .orgs tho.And it really depends on what you will use them for.If you aiming a high competitive niche,i would suggest to get a top tld first.i heard so many people say .co is supposed to be the next .com,so its worth trying them,i say.

So you mean that a .co domain is an international/global TLD like the .com is ? I thought a .co was a local/country TLD. I would be happy to be wrong
