Let's say I post a thread asking for a particular service. I am messaged by someone who is not a Jr. VIP but who has a couple hundred posts and whose account is a few months old, offering to sell me what I was asking for in the thread I posted. Let's say I buy from him.
1. Did I just break any of the rules?
2. Did the seller break any of the rules?
3. What determines if the seller is "a qualified seller"? Only being a Jr. VIP or above, or only being a paying member?
4. If he rips me off, are there any consequences at all for him if he's not a Jr. VIP? Am I able to open a Shit List thread and have him banned even?

1. BHW strongly encourages members to transact with qualified sellers who have Premium, Jr. VIP, or Marketplace Seller memberships.
While you "technically" can purchase from anyone who offers a service, as we don't see what is going on "behind the scenes", doing so from an unqualified seller puts you at greater risk of being scammed or receiving a subpar product or service.
Even if your actions don’t directly violate the rules, they might be seen as unwise within the community.
Never deal with non-upgraded members!
2. Yes, the seller clearly violates BHW’s rules.
According to BHW’s marketplace policies, only members with Jr. VIP status, Premium membership, or Marketplace Seller accounts are allowed to offer or sell services, whether through threads, private messages, or other forms of outreach.
If this individual messaged you privately without having the proper qualifications, they have broken the rules by engaging in unauthorized selling.
The rules are designed to protect buyers like you by ensuring that sellers have met specific criteria (such as account longevity, activity level, etc., before being allowed to offer their services.
3. A qualified seller on BHW is someone who holds one of the following statuses:
Jr. VIP: This membership requires at least 60 days of account age, 100 quality posts, and an annual membership fee.
These requirements ensure that the member has some credibility and investment in the community.
Premium Membership: Premium members pay a fee but don’t need to meet the same post or account age requirements as Jr. VIPs.
While they are considered paying members, they don’t automatically qualify to sell services on Marketplace unless they also apply for a Jr VIP or Marketplace Seller account.
Marketplace Seller: This is for individuals who wish to sell services but don’t meet the Jr. VIP post and age requirements.
They pay a higher fee to participate in the marketplace.
Only these categories of users are authorized to sell services on BHW.
4. Yes, you can open a
Dispute Resolution thread if the seller scams you or fails to deliver the agreed-upon service.
BHW takes reports of fraud seriously, regardless of the seller’s membership status.
If the seller is found guilty of scamming or breaking BHW’s rules, they can be warned or banned from the platform.
This applies to everyone, as unauthorized selling and scamming are clear violations of the forum’s policies.
