Buy The Dip?

So after China banned bitcoin, it took a major dive again.
Is that a good time to buy since it's the "dip"? Bitcoin has shown it will
bounce back all the time in the past so in this case, isn't buying the dip a good thing?

Is the strategy to basically keep buying the dips and then selling it off somewhere high enough
to get profit? Then wait for the dips and buy again and sell off when it reaches a high enough point
for profit. Is that the idea behind buying the dip?

I am not interested in HODL. I'd rather buy for $1, sell for $2 and do this 1000 times than to buy for $1 and wait
for years to sell at $1000.

I never saw that dive. It is moving in same price range. China news has almost no affect on the price this time.

The market is a bit too young to do proper predictions. Any random news can upset your calculations. Holding for the long term is the best option. You keep adding money to your portfolio and cash out when you reach your target in 5 years.

Bitcoin isn't just a short time shitcoin investment anymore.
If we treat it like a stock index and willing to take some risk, this would be a decent time to buy.

Normally, as with any good-performing stock, Bitcoin ( or bitcoin investors to be more precise ) will try to beat the previous ceiling. I believe this was in the range of $52,000.
If you put $1,000 today in it and wait for a $50,000 mark, you will earn close to $150 in profits.

In a long-term goal, this is achievable. I'm talking to be able to wait even for 2 or 3 months.

For decades, September is a BAD month for stocks and investments and most of them historically is going down. But they also go up afterward.

This strategy was being encouraged by Kim Dotcom 6 years ago. Buy in September, Sell in December/January. It's a decent strategy if you are not technical about it.

You can also compound the returns UNTIL the $50,000 ceiling.
Basically, you invest today, and whenever you have a 5% increase, sell and invest again the total amount you have.
If you know that your end goal is $50,000 and don't care about the ups and downs along the way, this will bring you more than $150 in returns until the final goal.

Of course, there's the possibility that BTC will never hit $50K again, so you need to think about that too. Where there is great return there is a bigger risk.

Timing the market can be really difficult, especially when it comes to crypto, one tweet/one news article/one incident can move the price insanely so if you're really interested, always keep a fair amount of money ready to invest when the drop occurs and buy it instantly rather thinking for so long that the price is already back up to normal again.

I meant specifically bitcoin only, not the entire market. Bitcoin was back up to nearly 50K until China came out with the news it banned it. Bitcoin dropped significantly back down to around $38K and that was the dip I was referring to. Each time bitcoin takes a big dip, that's when you should buy. Looks like I was right. Only a couple days ago bitcoin made the second biggest single day surge of the year and now it's all
the way back up to 47K again lol.

Yup you are right. When I saw bitcoin take a huge dive after China banned it (under 40K), I was thinking to myself, BUY BUY BUY....but I spent too long thinking about it and then just a couple days ago it had the 2nd biggest single day jump of the year jumping nearly 4K now back up to 48K.

So you can see around Sep 22 Bitcoin dipped to 40K from 53K in Sep 7.
That is the dip I am referring to should have scooped up bitcoin because you knew it was gonna go back up.
Just over a week later Oct 2. Bitcoin jumped back up to 48K. So the next time it has a little hiccup and dips to around 40K or under, buy it up knowing that it will bounce back to 50K eventually? Or will BTC and all crypto crash in 3 months lol.

If you want to swing trade crypto like that you'd make more profit doing it with reputable altcoins rather than BTC IMO. Compare HBAR with BTC over that time period for instance. That kind of trading is too stressful for me though... I'm as long as a giraffe's neck on my crypto investments
