Bust SEO Myths with Pills

So, there's no better place to watch all of your SEO myths get busted than keeping track of the 'pills' serps.

For example: https://www.google.com/search?ix=acb&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=discount+levitra or just google 'discount levitra'

Notice what's showing up on the top 10?

I know that 'pills' and drugs are sketchy as hell, and some of the sites in serps are there from actual hacking, but still.

So, discount levitra is a bit of a bad example, since those sites aren't selling it. Just google any old pill and see what happens.

For me 8 out of the top 10 are hacked sites hosting doorway pages. 1 is a social profile that has massive spam campaign and 1 is a dedicated domain with "levitra" in the url.

Seems after 10+ years Google still doesn't care about presenting hacked sites with doorway pages in the serps.

Yeah, but a lot of these pharma keywords have similar results... not all hacked...

Can't believe nobody else wants to talk about this.

I guess a lot of people in here never tought of starting a website in this niche,for the above reasons stated by you.Also,some members here dosen't like to talk about their sites and ranking methods in public

This is a very black niche from top to bottom. You cannot use adwords, it is very hard to buy links from other webmasters. Your domain could be easily banned even if you didn't seo it at all, just for the content or even for domain name containing "pharma" or something - directii, enom, godaddy are notorious to do such shit, most other domain registrars already given up to suppression of Big Pharma as well. Information about loyal registrars is a more or less classified thing among pharma webmasters. A pharma site could be banned from google without any reasons.
Oh, and forgot to mention, it's a criminal offence in some countries, like for example in USA, where you cannot cannot even import drugs from absolutely legal pharmacies in Canada as this will be against the law.

So, you see, there's very hard to do this business without resorting to very black methods.

You would think the highly-profitable pharmaceutical companies would put some effort into policing the results. They lobby Congress, why wouldn't they put effort into influencing Google?

Yeah, even though they are hacked... its hard to believe people haven't ranked real sites.
