Difference is wealth.

It is all about signals. Certain signals have certain meanings to a specific group. Whether they are right or wrong doesn't matter to the target group.

Anecdote:
An old girlfriend of mines Dad was a high powered consultant. One day he goes to meet a bunch of executives from a huge multinational company. But his car (big Mercedes) doesn't start, so he has to borrow his 19 year old son's car: a tricked out VW with racing spoilers and stripes and flames painted everywhere. When he shows up at the meeting, all the execs are waiting outside to greet this highly regarded and famous consultant. As he vroom vroomed into the parking lot. Needless to say, he didn't land the contract that day

A fairly typical scenario, there seems to be a loop though, which can be summed up to "why dont you wear a mask?". :
The executives didn't agree, supposedly because of image. The denied/dad tells the gf about the story. The gf now has a standard for success. The standard for success gets inherited by the kid, the kid becomes an executive, the executive doesn't agree. The denied...

The issue i see is that society is pretty much the fabric of every being, which is fair enough. But society causes too many "problems" to the individual. Whether it be what should i eat for lunch or i enjoy bacon.

Apologies if i don't make sense, elaborating takes too long.

Social mask? No matter what you wear, there is some sort of message being sent. You can act like you don't care etc., but you need to be aware of it. Wy would you go into a professional workplace without a suit or something similar? Because you don't want to wear a 'social mask'? Don't be stupid.
