Business Page or Personal Page?

Instagram guy here - total newbie to LinkedIn but I fell in love with the platform and I look to become an expert on it. I want to grow a page that curates other entrepreneurs looking to grow their business. Should I use my personal profile or should I use a business page? Which one would grow better? I don't have that casual salt-n-pepper look going for me that just expresses your mastery of business like someone such as Gary Vee lol - that's why I'm reluctant to using my own page.

BTW I'd love to connect with the LinkedIn community here on BHW!

If you don’t think you can pull it off with a personal page, you could try to do it with a business page. But I do think that a personal touch would grow faster with what you’re trying to do there. Either way, good luck!

Thank you mate!! Would you even recommend "faking" a personal account? I mean not like I'm Tai Lopez here trying to take peoples money. I'm here on LinkedIn to provide value and to help people. I don't plan to monetize much until LinkedIn really pops off. Thanks man!!
 
I wouldn’t recommend doing that if you’re hoping to establish a genuine connection with the people and businesses who are following you. But if you don’t anticipate having to rely on those contacts in the future, sure, you can create an “embellished” personal account.

Definitely will have to think about that. Do you believe I can establish a genuine connection with my audience if it was a business account?
 
I’m not sure if that’s possible with LinkedIn, specifically. However, we’ve seen some great business accounts on other social media sites, so you could be the first one to do it on LinkedIn. People really seem to connect with some business Twitter accounts, for example. I think the trick seems to be in setting a lighthearted tone. However, I’m not sure how you would do that if your goal is to be educational. Perhaps a friendly expert tone?

Experimentation - I'll have to try business and personal. Could definitely express a friendly expert tone with it. I'm by no means a great content writer, but as everyone has strengths and weaknesses, my biggest strength in writing is having it attract people in a fun manner.

What areas on LinkedIn do I need to focus on in order to succeed at my goals? Of course pushing out lots of HQ content is a big one as it is with any platform - what else?

So I set up a very nice looking personal account. Now I need to just really focus on connections I believe. What's the best way to get tons of connections? Is there bots, and if so, do you recommend it?
 
Sorry, I'm afraid you're on your own from here. Because I don't know your specific situation, I can't be of much help. And besides, I am by no means an expert at this. I suggest digging into the LinkedIn section of this forum and using the search bar to find the bots you're looking for. Hopefully, something will pan out!

Personal Profiles vs. Business Pages. Your Own Personal Profile is meant to maintain with friends and family on a daily basis. This is the place to shareown photos and status upgrades with all people who're close for you. ... you need to invite past and potential clients to like your Business Page. :)
 
I would definitely do the more personal touch. People tend to relate and trust the information being told a lot better.
 
Maybe my question does not fit this topic, but I still ask it. I recently learned met with Linkedin. And I really want to sort out this system.

Your Personal Profile is meant to keep up with friends and family on a daily basis. This is the place to share personal photos and status updates with people who are close to you. You can also use your personal account to directly message friends or comment on the activity they share on their personal page.
On the other hand, your Facebook Business Page is all about your brand and the services you offer as a professional in your field. You should invite past and potential clients to like your Business Page. It’s the right place to collect reviews, share essential details about your business and post about industry-relevant topics.
 
I would open both personal and business profiles. In this sense, you would be able to post on business page and share that post on your personal profile, in order to reach as many people as possible

Honestly from what I have seem I would create both but keep most of your activity on your personal. I manage my company's (700 employees) as well as 52 personal profiles. and people always engage more with the personal profiles then a midsize company nobody really knows. Make sure take advantage of every engagement opportunity such as endorsing skills, liking and commenting. There are a good amount of tools out there to do just this depending on what scale you are trying to grow. Managing the linkedin program that I developed for a few months now and its crazy hpw much potential there is in terms of reach cause you can build a very targeted audience and put out content thats engaging to them for free essentially. You're only able to create one profile, which includes only your personal information – no businessinformation. Your Facebook Profile is where you connect with family, friends, and colleagues. You're able to see personal posts and updates from your friends in your newsfeed as well as share your own photos and posts.

You can create your own company page on linkedin though. https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/710/creating-a-linkedin-page?lang=en

Hello,

I recommend you to create a personal account through which you can create a business page. You can post all your though leadership content in that business page and you can promote in on you personal account. The reason why i suggest this is, in future if you have to do paid promotion you should have a business page that is linked to your personal account.
