What a shitty idea you have! Go make rules in other place, not here. Bye.

Not feasible for BHW as a business. Not suitable for active members here as it would result in less real estate for useful threads on the homepage.

It's came with competition and people going to misuse. For BHW earning money is not mandatory, it's imp to keep the thread clean and useful for everyone. Who can bare and who don't.

He is just sharing his idea, none MOD implement his idea and saying it's perfect. All have there own opinion and here we are free to say anything except breaking any rules and regulations.

I see no value in this.
What is the point?

Hell NO!

We don't need shitty bumps.

It's bad for members who come here just to ask/read/discuss

It's bad for sellers who can't afford to keep up

It's bad for buyers because quality threads could get buried

You can already buy a sticky which is basically a perma-bump in your relevant section

I'll be straightforward, i suppose this will only benefit sellers that are already successful.
New sellers might have a difficult time keeping it up and this could lead to:

- A stagnating market as the same pages will always be on top.
- A lower competition among sellers, therefore a lower quality in the services provided.
- A weaker incentive for potential new sellers to buy account upgrades (Jr. VIP etc.) and, consequently, in the long run, BHW would lose more money than what they would gain by applying this new rule.
- People might somewhat abuse this.

In conclusion, overall it would have more disadvantages than benefits for BHW and would degrade users experience with the forum.
Honestly, the only people I could see benefit from this would be you and a few other sellers. Although, I will be pleased to hear your point and see where you come from with this.

Best Regards,
Jaymien.

Can't see how this question generated 2 pages of discussion.

It's an obviously bad idea to pay others $ to bump their threads. This'd be like formalizing corruption.

You want your thread on top.. pay BHW to sticky it. Buying bumps should be against their TOS... and if it isn't it will be. It's gaming the system especially on sales threads haha theirs rules to how many times you can bump your post.. so buying bumps would be a fat loophole.

Absolutely not. The marketplace would be full of crap at the top, genuine services would be pushed down and honest reviews would get pushed down so they are not seen very quickly.

Terrible idea.

Man, you are bumping your brand for free.

I see you've got multiple ideas on how to improve this site.
However, I advise you to think about each idea twice (at least before you post it on BHW).

Thanks

Fuck no.

Sales threads are already occupying enough space on the home page at any given moment. If you'd have the option to bump threads for $1 a pop, the whole home page would become a spam fest of BST threads. This would affect every BHW user, not just those interested in buying/selling.

If i can remember well, on the older BHW we had the option to ignore sections, so those didn't "pollute" the home page. It would be nice to have this feature back on the up and coming new platform. It's not just regarding the BST section, but e.g. if you give 2 fucks about crypto, you could ignore the whole section and those threads wouldn't appear on the feed/home page at all.

I don't think this is likely to happen - it would make the marketplace look like it had measles.

There are plenty of other ways that you can pay to promote your marketplace listing - the obvious ones are advertising and paying to have your thread as a sticky post. The less obvious ones - you can offer regular giveaways and other promotions - think outside of the box on this one.

Should BHW Members have the option to bump our thread for ($x.xx)?

Please comment why?

What a badly worded question.

I'm hoping you mean a seller can pay to bump their own thread more frequently than the 72 hour rule?

Surely you're not suggesting any member can be paid to bump threads?

Definitely not needed. You should be properly representing your service in a way that speaks out to potential buyers. Adding a Pay2Play feature isn't really needed for the marketplace. Plus, there are already rules in place as to when you can bump your thread.
