If we choose to link our article to our page, should that be a dynamic landing page or would we create an "authority" blog that we can use to market many different products? The second option seems like a lot of work on top of all those articles.

If we link directly to a product then that product should have a good sales page since we only have our article to make the sale?

If we create an opt in list AND a blog isn't there a risk we might lose the "buying temperature"?

If we can write good articles, why not outsource the backlinking instead? That way we can concentrate on writing top content. I know for me who is not an expert on seo, building links is way more work than writing an article?

    Thanks for feedback!

    Home Page:
It depends on the product and the sales page.

Quite often your article will act as a "presell" page so if you send them out to another article type page and then have to wait for them to wade through that and click out on your affiliate link it does create another step in the process and you might lose them.

But you can also create a landing page that is a variation on what the vendor is doing at their sales page - stressing benefits of the product, posting some nice images related to the product to whet people's appetite and encourage them to click.

Another option is to offer a free ebook or mini report if they opt in to your newsletter. Then you are working more at befriending them as a long time customer and you'll need to find a balance between sending them sales pitches and sending them quality info that they'll enjoy reading. Within your free report put your affiliate links - you'll get some sales that way.

All of the above things work, I recommend you try some different things and test them.

I can see long term list building and getting a base and "expert" status is great, but to make some $$$ isnt it easiest for the newb to find a good sales page and then link directly. I mean, hopefully the publisher has tought about his or hers sales page?

I am trying to go for one page sales page, I saw one very popular product, where the user had to scroll trough 4 pages of info to make a buy! That seems stupid!

but i think it is also not right to presume that all the readers would be looking for the Buy page directly. it all depends on the content, i think, and the relevant landing page should be user-cum-marketing friendly!
