Hello

I have been using bulletproofvps.com for almost 3 months. On every week, I have to face new problems at first time, the Network adapter damaged (Takes 2 days to fix)

Secondly they changed my machine (without my permission, it takes another 2 days to run again) . This time, on new machine i could not start xrumer, as it takes 30 days for license change.I told them to give me back the old machine but they told me that machine was deleted. So, this cause me wait 15 days more to run xrumer again (simply, 15 days wastage for force migration)


Thirdly, They had no reboot option in the Client portal, so the clients needs to restart the machine from the vps. Sometimes, when i click on restart, I could not connect again to my machine. In this case, we would open a ticket and they find some problem and again start the machine (this takes 1-2 days)

Do not think this is all. From 2 days ago, i Could not connect to my vps again. I open a ticket and they send me a reply.The reply is as below:-

Unfortunately due Spamhaus coming down to overseas DC's it has caused many issues for the data center where one of our nodes is located.

We are currently working very hard to try and recover all the data on the node and get everybody transferred over to the new server.

If for any reason we cannot recover your data from the server we will supply you with 2 free weeks of service as compensation for this. We hope it doesn't get to this stage though and that we can recover all of your data.

We're incredibly sorry for any inconvenience this could / has caused you. We're working our hardest to get everything back up and running smoothly just as it was before this happened.

If you have any specific questions you can reply to the ticket with them or hop on the live chat and speak to either Casey or Frank for details.

I never used that host, but if i face that much problems at a host like you explained for sure I will move out from there ASAP
 
You should move ASAP. Find a better host. there are lots of services on BHW marketplace. Look around.
 
I am having similar issues i signed up last month and only have been able to use the service for about a week. my site was wipped last week and i still cant get them to restore it.
 
Facing the same problem - just visiting here now to look at alternatives. From the initial problem mentioned on the opening post they set me up on a fresh vps - i installed all my software again and set stuff going and within a few hours it is down again (website not working either to create a ticket).
 
They also lied about the situation. They sent me a email after 2 days mentioning that a hacker was trying to access their server .To protect server they block the IP range. This is what they told me. But the truth was far behind this.


Now listen what was happened actually. A hacker accessed their server. He (the hacker) delete all the data from the server. Then the hacker left the server. After this, they blocked the IP range and were trying to recover the deleted date with simple data recovery software.No wonder, they failed.It was a easy job for the hacker to delete all the data of the server because bulletproofvps.com did not spend money on server protection and security. They even have no backup of the client's data.Actually, their package was quite low priced comparatively to the other companies.That's why they did not spend money on server security and data protection.


Just think about it.How vulnerable their servers are!!! .Your data and software license is not safe here. I would not be surprised if next week, another hacker hack their system and stole your xrumer or other SEO software license along with your data.

Better look for a reputed server company .They may be a bit costly but in return they ensure your safety.
 
I also had same problem last week with this company and I contact the support immediately and they actually came back in motion very quick.
 
I remember that case and I must say they helped me out immediately. This wasn't actually their fault someone was hacking from their servers and caused some major problems. It only effect 15% of their servers ( that's how they explained to me). Since that works perfect so I would still suggest using them over anyone else because of their great support. I've never had better support anywhere.
 
Hey guys yes we did have some problems, we can't control the actions of everyone would be impossible. There was hacking going on from the server not into them. And when this happens it bring a lot of attention to us and the datacenter. IF you look at our terms is specifically says no hacking or attacking of any sort. Has nothing to do with spamming. Spam is never an issue with us. We've given out extended time obviously and it only effected 15% or less. Of course this still is a horrible situation. Our support answering time was a bit longer of the time of this incident and if we missed anyone please just open a ticket and we'll get to you. The best thing to do in a situation like this is tell you straight up what happened and fix it. This doesn't happen very often in fact the last time it happened was a year ago when Russia changed spam regulation laws and shut down 75% of the servers sending out spam. I'm sure you know of "Hostkey" which was a large contributor to spam we had quite a large amount of servers in these datacenters colocated by Hostkey. We issued all new services to each client and recovered, most clients were impressed as most times this would happen the service owner would just ignore issue and not help solve the problem. Please just open ticket if you have any issue we'd be glad to help you like I said our answering time was delayed in past two weeks over the incident but we will not ignore you and we will help you. We have RAID on each server but in this case it doesn't matter. Spam was not the issue here if you can show me the ticket ID for this ticket I'll check over it myself. I have all the hack logs coming from our IP's regarding this situation. My support may have sent that reply but I'm the owner and I know what happened. I've also posted an announcement and have sent out a mass email explaining the problem. if you have any issues please contact us directly we will respond to you.
