Hi all,

I woul like to know if it fine to use a share server and elasticemail rather than vps is it fine for bulk email.

I am a bit short in time to set a server by myself.

Thanks and regards

It depends on the amount of outgoing emails you are planning to send per hour.

So, i should set up a VPS plan within Hostgator?

No, I'd stay away from hostgator.

There are a lot of other companies out there who are "tolerant" of mailers although they don't come right out and say it, for obvious reasons.

Who usually set up the server?

If I have to set it up, there is a tutorial somewhere?

Do you know some "tolerant" companies?

Most shared hosts limit sending to <500/hr.

You will need a VPS or alot of shared hosting.

What about service such as Sendgrid while using CMS such as Joomla?

The main problem being the IP that could be blacklisted...

Depends on the service. If they require you to send an email to their server for them to send an email out, you will still be limited. You need a service that has an API using soap, json, xml or another non-email call.

Can you please explain the process...Do you mean changing the host every week for example?

If you have a list of 10k (not alot) and you want to send daily emails, it will take 20 hours at a limit of 500 per hour. If you keep the limit maxed then you're likely to be banned for excessive usage so you would probably be better off at 100-250 on shared. That's 100 or 40 hours respectively. Using shared hosting for emailing is annoying.
Without a VPS with a non-limited email limit, you're going to need multiple accounts. Even then you would want to have multiple IPs rotating using iptables or the mail server doing it.

Or if its opt-in, non-spam then you can just get a single VPS, get an amazon SES account and set the MTA to use amazon. Or on shared modify your mailer to use the perl scripts to mail.
