built own affiliate program in 2021?

hi,

I want to use an affiliate program to increase the sales of my own product.

is it worth the work to built my own solution via WordPress plugin etc or go with an existing one like Clickbank?

could someone please share his experience with this and elaborate on the advantages and disadvantages of building an affiliate program by yourself.

I´m thinking about that.

But to grow the number of memberships it would be useful to offer some sort of affiliate program. customers will recruit more customers and get a chunk of the revenue they generate. just the classic marketing stuff...nothing new.
i could offer this affiliate program to everybody in my niche, or in a related niche to make money roll in faster.

What did you land on? I am planning to create my own affiliate program as well, but not sure which solution is better.
I like that you have control over the program and thus should be able to offer higher commissions compared to using an established network.

Control and higher commissions are an advantage of self-hosted Affiliate Programs. You are right.

But what about preventing fraud?

I really do not want to hire a programer for that.
Is there any wordpress plugin solution?

AffiliteWP is one of the most popular solutions for making your own affiliate program on WordPress, but it is not free. I do no believe there are any free or low cost alternatives that deliver the same quality

It is usually easier and certainly cheaper to go with an off the shelf solution.

But an affiliate program is only relevant if you are already making sales of your products and have a proven conversion funnel.

If you are not already selling your products an affiliate program is a waste of time.

Are your existing products already selling?

AffiliateWP is good if you're on WordPress. There's a bunch of alternatives to it as well and they generally allow you to set payout delays, payout in store credits vs. cash, automate payouts etc. without taking a cut of your profits.

Is it worth it compared to Clickbank. I have my own offers on CB but I do not like the approval process for some type of offers. Setting up my own affiliate program would give me more freedom for copy.
