Built an interactive tool for my niche, free links for days!

I learned Javascript + wordpress development last summer to try and boost my SEO competitiveness, and it's finally paying off.

Recently, I made an interactive tool relating to my niche and it's gone viral. This week alone i've gotten 10 free links, the highest one being 7000 RD.

The same tool would have cost about $30,000 if i paid a developer, so it seems like I got a good ROI on my time investment. The tool itself took about 1 month of programming to make.

I feel like this could be the future of SEO, and how SEO looks in 2030 and beyond. It's expensive as heck, but sites with tons of fun interactive tools will not only get links, but increase dwell time. About 10% of visitors click to my tools from my money pages and have dwell times as high as 2 hours, but average 10 minutes if they click through.
Considering how much ROI a tool like this can get in, as SEO competition increases it's inevitable sites will get better and better, every money page will need some interesting unique thing about it, and JS and some creativity is one way to make it happen.

Can you give some more insight on what this interactive tool does? I don't want you to reveal your niche or anything, just to understand the process, what made you say "I will build this".

Freebies work great, especially if they are useful. I used to ask my good friend to code something simple for my projects. Good for you if you know how to code it yourself.
