Ok so I have been using all the techniques here which have been working great. My goal is to build an actual community site but just ramp up the amount of time it takes to do it.

So so far I have had articles written, and done seo, the site is filling up with content, then I am going to start buying backlinks once I have the site full of some decent content.

But I have a pretty vacant forum. Should I just let it start populating on its own. Seems slow, does anyone have any techniques to get a forum up and going faster?

I would love to get some advice on this too. Mainly how to get members to sign up and post to a brand new forum??

I've been debating whether to populate my forum to make it look active myself. I would assume it would be best to do so, because people would register and participate because they'll see active forums. I might do a scrapebox blast and populate it... not sure yet...

Yes I would be interested in some sort of a forum traffic bot for my own site. Obviously the problem is no one really wants to post in a forum by them self's.

If anyone can tell me of any tools that may help speed up the following, if not I may just hire some freelancers to help.

1. Have a number of fake users that autopost rss feed information everyday in the forum from rss feeds with minor spin.
2. Have a number of other users post "thanks" and other common responses.
3.Have scraper box it my site slowly using Proxies, to boost the number of perceived forum visitors showing up at the bottom of Vbulletin.

Anyone have any edits or suggestions I would love to hear.

Also will duplicate content effect me negatively on a forum? On my main site there is none, on a forum I would figure it would be hard to control, and most forums don't look to be penalized. In my niche many are the highest ranking search results.

Just an idea, and not a new one. Saw it somewhere else. Set your forum so that users have to be logged in to see the content. Should be able to make an exception for the bots. That way, when a user finds something from your site in search that they want to see, they will have to register to actually see it. Just something to consider anyway.

That would work but right now the forum is completely empty with no content. Are there any auto poster bots for vbulletin with a spin feature?

I found some but they are very old. Does anyone know of any current ones

Forum posting is the best way to kick start your new forum.

Be careful if you will be searching in google for "forum posting" because most of the sites that show are being operated by non-native speakers primarily in India.

I have used some of them myself and the results were disastrous.

Instead you can find content writers and directly pay them to setup acccounts and simulate dialogues.

Once the site has few thousand posts, you can put more energy into building backlinks.

The more initial content the site has the higher conversion ratio it will have on new visitors.

You can kickstart the forum by hiring some forum posters. You can check the forum posters by asking them to make few sample posts and if the quality is high you can proceed further. You can find posters at cheap rates like 4-5 posts for $1.

So one idea is to use the RSS feed bots and post in then have paid commentators make a dialogue about them, how much should I worry about duplicate content on a forum?

fill it with decent content
rank for relevant keywords
acquire targeted following on social networks
post in like forums with link in your sig
