if i build links with no relevant sites,can help me to get pr and higer postion in serps for my keyword?
Or

Answer: Yes, it will still help.

Having a web site about teeth whitening strategies and posting a comment on an acai berry site is as good as posting a comment on another teeth whitening strategies site.

Non relevant links help a little but one niche related back link is worth way more then 100 non targeted links i rank for some keywords with only a few GOOD backlinks

non relevant links make your link profile more genuine in eyes of search engine , So few non relevant links are always good for health of website

I believe relevant sites give more weight to your backlinks but non-relevant sites also good for building backlinks.
Building backlinks from non-relevant sites does not mean search engines would ignore the links.

The main point for building backlinks is to use your targeted keywords as the anchor text

Having relevant links is a plus, but natural link building doesn't consist of all niche related backlinks. Think about this, if you had a very controversial blog or article, something like the Clinton sandal or Michael Jackson's death, how many different sites will link back to you? A lot and it won't be all niche related.

Why would it hurt?


If someone wanted to take down your site he could spam your ur everywhere on non-related websites and get your ranked lowered. Wouldnt make much sense if google penalised you for that.

Just keep building links, they all help and there is no penalty for non-related links. Relevancy is great but there is no such thing as too many backlinks!

As all suggested just try to make as many as backlinks you can. All are good, if relevant then better.
but try to make a distance from the websites that are penalized for some reason.
