Building Links with Free Web Hosting, is it a good idea?

Do you think it's a good idea to register some (maybe a lot of) domains and host them on free webhosting sites, install wordpress or joomla or any other CMS and then post articles on them? Is it practical?

Why I don't see much people suggest about this method? I'm not sure are there anything should I be aware of.

- Will my account last for long?
- Actually, how many working free webhosting sites I can find?
- Is there any restriction on the account that would be problem for seo?
- Are their IPs likely to be black list by Google?
- Anything else, please suggest.

i would never suggest using free hosting sites as you are not in control of them and they can be taken offline without any warning and any money you are making from them dissappears instantly.

Always have your own hosting and then your are in control of the site.

hey, even in paid host you can be suspended too. i read lots of thread about 'hostgator suspended my account' in various forums. using free webhost is not a bad idea, but you must back up all data, if someday your account suspended, switch to different host.

The question is how likely that they will remove my accounts? I'm tried of registering new accounts with web2.0 and WPMU sites and then the accounts just get removed.

free web hostings usually have a big iframe (advertising0 on ur web pages, it might give you a little link juice but not much

Use host only to host.Domain should be elsewhere (free domains).
If your hoster delete your account, you can setup a new one,
upload your backup from suspended account and setup domain DNS
to the new hoster.

I used to use free web hosting, they always seem to go down after a while. They try to make money by giving away some free hosting and hoping people will upgrade to a paid hosting plan, but it seems it doesn't work out cause all the free hosts I've ever been with seem to shut down after a few months to a year.
