Building backlinks on foreign site(s) to increase SERP

I've found a lot popular websites where I can promote my services (and build backlinks). Although the websites are thematically related to what I'm offering, they're all in a foreign language. My website is in English, and the websites are non-English.


Will this positively or negatively affect my SERPs. Will there be a difference between building backlinks on a Russian website and a Dutch website?


P.S. I speak the foreign languages on the sites where I want to promote. It's not going to be spam.

If your sirvices in english, so i think it will have negatively affect, becouse foreing users may be not interested in it.

and what kind of links will be these, profile or signature links are devalued a lot now.

Not signatures. But they're forums and I'll be posting links in the thread and/or reply section after giving my explanation.

Actually, one of the most powerful ways people build backlinks is through cross-language platforms.

In other words, they would build links from websites with one language to build up another site in another language.

Of course, in the past few years this has taken quite a bit of a hit since many people were abusing this loophole.



The good news is that it hasn't been completely closed off by Google.

However, you might want to pay attention to niche-specificity as well as overall link quality.

It's not quite the slam dunk as some people make it out to be.

The good news is with a little bit more attention to detail, you might get what you‘re looking for.

Personally speaking, I'd focus on niche-specific, high-quality links in the language of the website that I am
promoting.

I have got backlinks from Non-English sites and haven't had issues in the past. Don't know the current scenario, hope it will be the same.

Ask yourself this.. Would it occur naturally? Would non-English people naturally post links there? If yes, then it will probably help (ie: a few links here and there like this). However if you have 10 000 links from Russian forums and no English language links.. does it look natural?
