Just a heads up to our White Hats. I have been building legitimate sites for 15 years without any black hat techniques and some of them deliver outstanding results. About an hour ago I posted a new entry to a niche directory/blog (well, it's a directory but uses WP). About 30 minutes later I am receiving the first Google hits from number 5 position. It's not a very competitive term, but building a brand new site around it, would take much more effort to rank than having an authority site with just a new article. Sometimes, white hats have an edge :-)

Hey, Im totally into authority sites. I dont use plain whitehat linkbuilding, its automated but in my opinion invisible to google. I keep a close watch on the link velocity when I build backlinks. Whitehat sites produce value and bring a lot of returning visitors. Thats whats important in the long run.
 
Totally agree. Authority sites are web real estate...keep adding to them and they just age like a fine wine. I still have niche sites but when they are slowly getting left behind as I concentrate on my sites that have age,quality and weight
 
White hat all the way is what I say when your building an authority site.
 
What exact link building method dew you use for your authority sites?
 
You think that until your authority site just randomly gets hit by googles next "animal" update...

I mean, white hat definitely has advantages, but as Google gets crazier and crazier, I'm personally starting to prefer blackhat more and more.
 
I prefer greyhat since building a whitehat site take much time, like 15years, wow

It happens. Had one site go from 5k a day to just 1k for no reason. But I have many of such sites. So for each that goes down, another one moves up.

Wow! 5k from one site?? am wondering wich kind of sites , and hopefully i can see how does it like like!!:)
 
Both black and white hat have their advantages and disadvantages. Find a spot in-between that you're comfortable with and you'll be set.
