Building an email list through CL?

Is it possible to build an email list through Craigslist? Has anyone done this? I have some ideas in mind.Of course it is possible. And people are doing it.
While this method is better than dumb internet-scraping, you should still not expect a good list from it.
You can narrow down your hits a bit by only crawling specific lists (country, city) but you will still get a lot of junk.
CL does work - just use it wisely.

send email first when they reply extract the emails and names.

i am thinking about posting, then capturing the replies.
they get an autoresponder when they reply to your ad, or wait a little while and mail them all.
this way you are basically building a targeted interested list that you can market to more than once.
while you are still marketing to them right now.
