I am making this thread to keep myself accountable and document this journey.

My plan is to make YouTube short accounts, monetize them, and using them to grow other long-form and short-form channels. I will release shorts in the Gaming niche on both, but I am currently focusing on the smaller channel for some experimentation. There won't be too many updates as I'm pretty busy with my full-time job, but I will try to post one video at least every other day. All content is organic, high quality, and original for long-term success, though I do get heavy inspiration from other channels in my niche.

My first goal is to get at least 100k subs on one of the channels, at this point I will probably be trying to drive traffic to a new long-form focus channel. Having a channel monetized would be nice as well, but most of the money will probably come from long-form since Shorts rpm is so bad. I might try growing channels focused on CPA as well, but we will see.

Day 1 (not really, but I'll just call today, 6/12/24, Day 1 to make it easier)

Best of luck, the only thing you need is consistency. I tried for few days and managed to get few thousands, but got bored. Just keep uploading.

I make them myself: record gameplay with OBS and edit with DaVinci Resolve. I follow shorts format and trends I see on other channel. Target audience is pretty young, so usually like memes, trending songs etc.

Good luck to you. I trust you will do well. Use AI to help you. There is a website called opus clips that takes long form and shorten it into short form content.

I will use them to drive traffic to other new long-form channels in the same Niche through Community Posts, or leading them to the part 2 of a short (on the channel I'm trying to grow) using description/comment links.

It's been a while, and to be honest I haven't really done anything. I would say I've been really busy with work, but that would be a lie, I'm not really doing anything that hard or time-consuming. Hasn't helped that two of the videos I spent a couple of hours on got shadow banned to 0 views. Just very undisciplined.

I give daily progress reports to my Boss which keeps me motivated, so I'll try doing it for this project. If I do nothing I'll say I did nothing, hope that doesn't count as spam.

Anyhow, here's the update:

Day 17
Currents Stats:
Channel #1
1.124k subs (+25)
160 videos (+3) [if you're confused, it was ~160, or about 160 before—now it's actually 160]

Channel #2
147 subs (+57)
10 videos (+5)

I've come up with a new strategy to be able to upload more videos with less work. I use the same idea on both channels, but re-record and re-edit. They're two separate videos, but very similar. This gives me also 2x output at maybe 1.5x the time, which is not bad. Since it's different recordings and edit all the timings, color, video hashes should be very very different. I upload one on one channel, and another on the second channel. They're in the same niche, so I've seen some success with it from the very small amount of experimentation I've done so far.
 
Is there an example for what you are creating in gaming niche? Never saw shorts going viral in gaming niche.
