Building a serious business with wordpress

Hi,

i want to start an marketplace website with wordpress. There are many themes for this, but if you login or want to register the url will be like website.com/wp-login or website.com/wp-register so anyone knows that the marketplace is running on wordpress.
Is it repetuble to run a marketplace website with wordpress?? And is it possible to move wordpress database(with user datas) to normal PHP script later on?

I don't think anyone cares what you run your marketplace on, but that's just my opinion And yes, the database created by WP can be used by a 'normal' site later on.

Im 99% sure you can change the URL if it bothers you. But wordpress is used by some major sites out there. I would trust wordpress more because I know their development team works on fixing security issues.

When installing it on the cPanel delete the extension at the end of the domain. Make sure you're just installing it on domain.com and not domain.com/wp

What kind of marketplace? Will users post on it? Or will only you post products?

There are plugins for galleries and such.

The problem with Wordpress is that if it gets hacked, your marketplace, all the files, all the user data gets wrecked with it. So if you decide to do anything commercial with WP other than host content, security should be your 1st concern IMO.
