Me and my co-partner are building a news site where we are creating our own content for articles, etc. I want to know is it a good idea to mix in auto blogging content from relevant feed sources, while still uploading and creating our own unique content. So, basically what i am asking, can a site still rank well by mixing unique content with some feeds from other sources? For example, if 60 - 70% of our content is manually created, while 30 - 40% comes from feeds. Is this a good idea, or should we strictly stick to creating our own content 100%? Any advice is appreciated

yes, you can. As long as it's relevant. There are several sites that do this, most notably yahoo.com.

Thank you very much for that answer.

Mixing of both manual written articles and feeds will look like spam. Auto blogging content from other sources will be a duplicate content. Hopefully this one is obvious - any duplicate content on your site makes it less useful in Google's view, and that could result in penalty. Make sure your content is unique and well written.

Better off asking user for comments or there say.

Never use old content classed as spam .

google see it twice yours and the oreganal.
