Building a "authority site" from scratch step by step Journey

any update for this Journey, Looking forward to see if the content campaigns is working?

A little update:
Ranking for the keywords are starting to pop up, I believe this is the time when the site will start ranking for the keywords.
Interesting enough, the 3k us ms keyword is ranking on its own and its on the 56 place right now and is going higher and higher slowly without any backlinks.

The seo package that I've paid for is only for the rood domain, I'm planing to build backlinks for every page one by one.
I was considering to start with high PR2+ do follow comments and with few web 2.0.
I know there are lot of people saying that comments backlins are wast of time. I have try them on my niche and after one week the niche on the 110 place from nowhere. I can tell you its better then social signals.

For now I I'll only add content to the site, and wait for all the backlinks do be indexed, after that i will start building backlinks to my inner pages.

Great thread, best of luck to you.

Here's my 2 cents on link building.

I had 10 year old, 1000+ page PR4 authority site. I wrote all the pages myself.

I used SENUKE for SEO. All the articles linking to my site were originals. Extremely well spun articles linked to them.

As the site made more and more money I had less and less time.

So I outsourced. At one point I had 4 virtual assistants and tried to get them to do the SEO the way I did it. That took way too much time and the work was low quality.

So I started using SEO services. I could live on what I was spending on SEO. It was working so I didn't pay much attention to it.

Then came Penguin. Each Penguin update stomped my site further and further into oblivion. It went from thousands of visitors a day from Google for the main keywords to about a few for obscure long tail keywords. So it hasn't been deindexed.

Now it is a PR0. I did have a problem with ICANN about an old email address and this may have contributed. Google was telling me to sever links from bad neighborhoods. The problem was that I had millions of them and I did not control them.

My content is killer but has been ripped off so many times that if I moved it to another site it would probably be seen as duplicate content. But on that site Google knows they are original. Now my formerly successful authority site does not even pay for it's hosting.

The point of all this is that if I had to do it again I would manually build hub sites that I regularly updated. All the grey hat links would point to these. This would put me in control of the links and keep the quantity low enough for me to manage. So if Google ever decided any of them were bad I could severe them and quickly recover.

An Authority Site should be thought of as a long term investment. I did that for years. Then I rationalized that my site had enough authority to withstand some bad links. The more links I bought the more money I made, so I kept buying. I was blinded by dollar signs and I treated mine like a disposable get rich quick scheme and lost everything. With Penguin it went from crazy successful to nothing instantly, like turning off a switch.

So my advice is to treat your authority site with care. The big money is spread over the next 20 years not the next 20 months.

Best of luck to you.

Thank you.
Man I fell for you, this is the worst thing that can happen to anybody and its hard. Its always easier to outsource seo and it even cheaper then doing it your self, its hard not to cave in. I am planing only original content for my moneysite backlinks, nothing spooned. Also I'm looking on the market for a guest posts, i wanna try a few for only one keyword to see what will be the result and also i want to try high PR comments for one page but anchors with out the keyword.

I'm also interested in your keyword research giveaway if it is still on offer.

Don't wait, just do it! Money and success will not come to you doing nothing, you must hunt them like trying to catch a chicken.

Little Update:
I did found someone to write the content for me daily. Because I'm on budget I was only capable of paying $100 a month, I know its what i can afford right now.
So i will have new articles every day, so I can my site will become authority faster. Every article will be written for its own kw I don't want few articles with he same kw.

I have decided to make a little experiment with two keyword i have.
For one article/kw I have paid for 2 enzine articles to written and approved.
For the second article/kw I have paid for high pr blog comments.

I want to see what impact will this backlinks have on the serp and to see what results i will get. After that i will try with few blog posts and web 2.0. My end purpose is to see what kind of serp results I will get with different backlinks to my site and see what will be the best and cheapest combination for link building to archive top 10.

You can read how much you want but in the end you until never know whats works best for you until you do little experiments by your self.

Update:

The high pr comments appear to work for now. The kw have 4400 US monthly hits and before the blog comments it wasn't even in top 300 not is on the 140 position and it was only few days ago that my order was done, so I expect that in the next few days the rank will drop under top 100.

Great journey. Started something similar a couple of days ago. I'm trying to build 3 authority sites simultaneously. Good luck!
