Just like YouTube the big G will prob acquire them.
I'd start building up your Twitter accounts Blackhat style before then!

Because you know as soon as G owns them, filters, limitations and more strict rules will follow just like YouTube.:D

just my .02

Wow you're really on top of things. :P Though I suppose it is actually a very good idea. Google would probably add more restrictions.

omgwtfbbomgai big g? Sad face

Agreed 0-- Twitter is a prime acqusition target.

That said so is FB given their growth (staffing) against their revenues. Google has $1B+ in the bank and can afford to gooble up FB and Twitter without issue.

Google won't consider twitter until they have proven their business model. So the question is this:

How does Twitter make money? They don't right now -- it is the classic "get everyone hooked" and then we will start selling advertising. Hmmm, sounds like FB...

The Twitter bosses would be retarded, more power to Google for their smart decisions. Twitter recently got a new respect in the medical field, doctors are using it now. They'd be extremely stupid to give up this now that everyone uses it, even in high places. When Presidents, Doctors, and schools are using your product it's good.

... well if the price is right, everything is up for sale.

I heard that the twitter guys are the same who created blogger (and then sold it to google), so probably they'll sell twitter too

It's time to grow some twitter accounts...twitter is hot right now

interesting. maybe the big g will indeed buy it. Their traffic isn't as good for me as some other networks . i guess cause they aren't trying to make money from ads as of yet..

seriously, google won't stop till they own the web.

they ruined youtube, now they're gonna ruin twitter

Things would get interesting if google really bought twitter.

Why would google want to buy twitter? It it like ebay buying skype. Plain stupidity. Do any of these social media sites actually have a business model? Wasn't FaceBook valued at a higher value than Ford at one point? Web 2.0 bubble, google would be better off to just wait a few years for most of these companies to go bankrupt.

Buying a platform like Blogger was a no brainer, as it has paid itself off.

Any business person who spends hundreds of millions of dollars on a product that doesn't have a monetization model should be taken out back and shot.

I don't know anyone who has a twitter account (myself included) and I highly doubt any buyers actually have twitter accounts. Marketing to preteens and online addicts wouldn't be in my best interests.

Lets be honest here, what percent of twitter traffic converts? Just like you can get mortgage clicks on Facebook for pennies, and yet still no one wants the traffic.

I imagine the creation went something like this. "Hey Evan, I just had a great idea."
"Yeah, what is that biz?"
"You know how stupid those Wall Street Venture capitalists are? Lets create an internet messaging service, give it a crappy name and sell it off a few years later for 500 million."
"But biz, AIM already did that over a decade ago."
"Yeah, but it will work anyway."

I dont even like twitter, its so annoying not to mention I havent heard of much people who are making money with it corrent me if im wrong

Twitter makes me money and gives me lots of prospects for my lists.

As far as Google buying them, I'm sure if the price is right, they can get a hold of it. But IMHO I don't think worrying about it is even worth it.

Sure Google will put new rules and regulations on Twitter if they buy it, but there is always a way around it, and you can always make use of it. IMHO, when Google buys something, it's a good thing.

I still use you tube and it works great for me. The methods I use now are different than before, but as long as you adapt to the changes, you will always be able to utilize and exploit any website and make money from it.

Just my 2 cents.

resilient people will always find a way to make a product / service work for them... you can complain about it once google buys twitter... or you can get on with the job... at this point in time there is nothing to worry about as the future never exists until it is NOW... and as far as I know twitter wasn't just bought :)
