Build Something That Lasts...

I've done a lot of time in marketing, primarily social media marketing. I haven't been too active here, but I see a lot of what I would call "temporary schemes". PPD, media buys, and other things that bring income fast, but not continually. I've done a lot of temporary things, and they are great for quick cash and solid income if you can scale up. But I want to challenge more users to build something that lasts, and holds inherent value in itself. Your Youtube video with a COD hack link isn't really an asset, nor is your fake dating website you drive traffic to from POF. They're great ideas for a quick cash flow, but are limited in their ability to be scaled and produce consistent profit.

Money right away is great, but the best decision I ever made was to create multiple internet-based companies that offer quality services. Of course the BHW rule of thumb is proof, but for certain reasons I can't connect those companies to this post. I'm not looking to make a motivational post everyone thanks me for. I seriously think as creative and talented as many users are here, that with the right plan and patience, more of you could create something fantastic.

What should you create? Well if everyone had a profitable business plan, it would be too easy. Vision is a key part of being an entrepreneur, opportunities come and go, it's just being able to see a need and taking the steps to meet that need for others (for a price of course ). And a lot of methods here are lasting methods, a social media channel that provides good content, a niche website, a quality blog, there are plenty to be found here alone!

That's my challenge, I certainly think a lot of "temporary" methods are great, I just want to challenge you guys to maybe invest some of that money, or spend some time on creating something that will last.

I am creating something that will last. At the moment, I've invested both money and time into it. It's just a matter of waiting now

This is a very good idea.
I myself have 2 very long-term projects ATM, I decided it's time to build something that will last in Long-Term, 5+ years.

Having short-term projects is not a bad idea, as long as you have something that will last long, your insurance for income, then it's good.

Build for long-term, stay in the game for long.

@Op, I have noticed that people on this forum (I am talking about majority) and in "real" life don't want to listen to this kind of stories because they all want "fast" cash.
I agree with you but your story is not gonna reach much people because they don't know what is vision and entrepeneurship. I stopped sharing my thoughts with people cause after I tell them what they have to do to succeed online they either think I a lier or that I don't want to share a "real" stuff with them

So, now when they ask me how to earn money online I just give links to sites like Elance, Fiverr(Work) and BHW(knowledge)

I plan on creating my own CPA style network But I need like $200k first, so I am just hustling with small methods for now until I reach that level.

This is a great way of thinking, everyone should consider this, investing "fast" money that you have earned on short term projects is the way to go, to build something stable with maybe even passive income..

I invest some of my fast IM money on university degree. That's why i started IM.

Everything changes so you never know what will happen with internet. For me it's best to do business both in real life and IM

I have to agree with the OP, if you are in a bind and need some cash quickly, then some of the things posted here will get you that, but long term you need to build something tangible.

Creating something that you can rely on , of course, doesnt mean you have to give up on the quick cash methods completely , but making a few hundred in a week when its in addition to a reasonable regular online income is a lot different to just having that few hundred.

SkyRocketSEO While "temporary" methods for quick cash can be done by just about anyone, bigger things take greater vision and thinking. Personally, just following people like Mark Cuban and other entrepreneurs gives me motivation and insight. Entrepreneurship isn't for everyone.

You can give people ideas for really doing something big online, but it's much more than just taking an idea and following the steps on a BHW post. It's understanding a market, solving problems, and overcoming adversity. 3-4 times I almost gave up on one of my companies, but my partner just told me to see what would happen. And let's just say he is going to stay my partner for a while.

There are always opportunities, but there isn't always the right person to take them on.

Try to get yourself in some long-term business models involving your business presence, customer base and monthly selling products.

I am building lots of sites for desperate niches,people will always need cream for something on their ass.
No ads on any of these yet just the best information I can create,curate,rewrite,and upload by professionals in that niche.

I completely agree with you OP. Im in the process of building something that relates to my real life hobby, but i'm currently doing small stuff to make money on building it up.

quality is defiantly king, long term projects should be a big part of everyone's online goals.

Going for long-term it's the ideal situation, but you will think like this only once you did some constant money from IM already.
A lot of money will go into testing so you need something behind you when starting. I agree with IamNRE, many of us have something big in mind but beside our daily necessities a massive budget should be put together at the beginning.

I also agree. You can make a lot more money with a long term project, but a lot of people lack the drive to actually start one. I'm getting into online marketing. That's my long-term project right now.
